This panhead utilizes very strong, lightweight magnesium construction. Magnesium's specific gravity of 1.7 makes it the lightest utility metal, lighter by 2/3 than aluminum and 1/4 than iron, but with superior hardness and strength to both. Magnesium also copes well with vibration, and retains its dimensions even with changes in temperature. It is also highly resistant to corrosion.
