Sherpas are the trusted partners who assist mountain climbers in scaling the highest peaks in the world. Definitely not the main player, yet powerful, working in the background, and crucial to success. Velbon makes out tripods to be this sort of partner.
The new Sherpa Series is available with attached head, either one or two handles or with a ball and socket head. Legs are designed with either 3 or 4 sections and are available in a range of leg diameters.
The Sherpa Series now offers tripods with a variety of constructions for these varied leg diameters, including models with a detachable, 2-section center column that permits low angle shooting by fully opening the legs when the lower section is detached. In addition, models with a fixed angle of leg opening and a non-detachable center column that does not allow low angle shooting are available as well as headless tripods. Tripod case and DIN standard Quick Release Plate for fast, easy changeovers are standard.
