This is THE most adaptable tripod I have ever owned. I photograph wildflowers. Unlike any tripod I've owned in the past, this one lets me get down almost to ground level to photograph small wildflowers. I can shoot side views of plants that are only 2 or 3 inches tall! The legs will fold out so that the tripod sits almost flat on the ground, so the system is very stable. I hope I never have to live with another tripod that has a center column. On the down side, quality of the construction could be better. After a few months of use a plastic washer on the pan-handle broke. The tripod still works without the washer but not as smoothly as with it. Now after 3 years the glue holding the rubber grip on the pan-handle has failed. Sometimes it's hard to grip the pan-handle tightly enough to turn the handle and loosen it, especially if I get in a hurry and tighten it a little too much. If you are a wildflower photographer, you will love this tripod. I highly recommend it.

I like all the ways you can move the ball head with the tiltable center column. This is really good for macro photography and a nice sturdy everyday tripod. Would buy again.
