This is a great all around scope if you can handle a couple extra bells and whistles. The zero stop function is different and will take a second to figure out if you one have experience with traditional zero and cap turrets. It's a good setup and easy system to learn. The adjustment clicks are nice and clear so you know how many you've input. Great clarity all the way through the different magnifications and a great reticle for almost any application.

Hardy scope that i have been recently hunting with, dropped my rifle 12 ft and still held zero with minor scratches. 10/10 i love the reticle and how it illuminates without bleeding on maximum brightness. Also having this scope come in with lifetime warranty is extremely a gold ticketed item to have in the collection. The scope is lightweight and not bulky with extra bells and whistles that aren't needed.

I put this on a Ruger American .270 and have used it for the last three hunting seasons. Holds zero like a dream. The low-light function it that lights up the reticle was very useful last season for a 10 minutes left of legal shooting light situation. You really can't go wrong with anything vortex, but this is probably going to be fairly intimidating for beginners. Would be a good scope to get if you are wanting something that would let you grow as a long-range shooter.

I have had this scope for about a year ago. I use this scope for hunting even thought it was not designed for hunting. It lets it a ton of light, it holds a zero, and is easy to zero once you figure out the procedure for the zero stop. This is a great scope and would highly recommend this scope to anyone.

This optic is very crisp. Currently have it on an LR10 .308. Dialing in with precision is very easy. Will follow up as I stretch it out and use with multiple cal ammo.

I bought this scope for a Remington 700 in 308, and the clarity of this scope is unreal. A tad heavy, but completely worth it when you feel and look through this optic. I'd put one on every rifle if money was no option.

Glass is better than I expected! Turrets feel great, seems to be robust. Wish it came with better lens covers. My suggestion would be to have a covered windage turret.

had this model soon after it was released for 308 prs rifle went through 1400 rds no problem very well built glass is good for this level and cost of optic, good reticle and illum, i upgraded to razor and now the viper is on ruger american predator in 243 for coyote hunting very confident in shots out to 600 with 87gr vmax. you can notice difference between this and razor on cloudy/rainy days as this doesnt make certain colour targets pop out like the razor

I bought my Viper last year and it has by far been my favorite scope I've ever used. Scopes can be a pricey investment, but I am so happy I made this one. I used to hunt with a lesser quality scope and the difference is night and day. The build quality of this scope and the clarity of the glass in low light scenarios makes this scope punch way above its weight class. Believe me when I say "build quality", I mean it. I may have done some unintentional drop testing of this scope, from about... 25ft, or however high me sitting in my tree stand is. *cough* Anyway, this scope withstood a beating and is still fully functional and barely has any marks... my rifle at the time, not so much. So lets just say I feel a sense of confidence using this scope, knowing it will withstand my clumsiness and still hold zero. My rifle... not so much. Now if you excuse me I have to go look at replacement stocks...

This optic is built like a tank! A very light, sexy tank. Zero stop is easy to set and rock solid. Windage and elevation knobs are easy to turn but have solid, audible clicks. Glass is clear all the way up to 15x. Illumination controls are easy to use but don't get in the way. Amazing optic for the money.

I do not like this optic! It does not perform very well, It tracks horribly. It even fogs up easily. I have sent it back once, Vortex sent me a new one and it has the same problems! What is going on with quality control. I have removed this optic from the rifle it was on, now The rifle is sporting a $500 leupold that out performs the vortex in every aspect. The quality of the leupold far surpasses the Vortex. And the tracking is true. I would like a refund and get away from vortex. But I doubt that will happen.

Very interesting...I have the 3-15x44 FFP PST Ten 2. I put this on a Tikka 300WM for an elk hunt in December, in northern Arizona. Opening day I find a herd of elk and my scope is completely fogged up. The interesting part is that others are reporting the same. For the price of admission, this scope should not fog up to the point that it is not useable. I was always a Vortex "fanboy" until this experience. Definitely going with Leupold from here on out. Tracking and zero are not precise either on the 300wm. This is using Seekings percision rings. Just not happy with Vortex lately.

Received my 3-15x44 as a gift on 9/11/2019 from my buddy at The Shooting Institute. Intended purpose was precision shooting with a high performance crossbow, day and night. Primarily for nuisance wildlife management to reverse habitat destruction and facilitate ecosystem recovery. This often takes place in politically sensitive suburban or even urban enviroments. You need 100% success rates to prevent an incident. I chose this optic specifically for the high magnification coupled with the 20 yard - Infinity parallax range in a reasonably priced optic for a short range weapon. I have Zeiss, Swarovski, Nightforce, even Unertl optics and have used Vortex Razor stuff too. This scope holds it's own among them and has performed flawlessly in the field. It's been excellant in low light conditions. So good that it often picked up targets at night before lighting them up with a weapon light. With the wide magnification and adjustable objective ranges, it's a versitile optic that can function well on different platforms in the future. You can pay more money for an optic but you won't find a better dollar value for a clear glass than this one.

I perchest this Scope A month ago for my Browning X bolt 30-06. I Put 40 rounds through the rifle with the Scope on it, the Scope then Started to Develop black spots inside the scope in different spots on the reticle. At times and against certain targets the sub tensions are difficult to see. So i just sent it back to Vortex for servicing. In all my experience with the scope has been disappointing. Customer Service was really helpful and pleasant to talk to. Not happy About wasting more money on getting the Scope remounted and spending more money on ammo to sight in the scope all over again, or waiting for my scope to be returned.

I retired by Grandfathers Savage M99 this year and built a Weatherby 7 Mag for Deer and Elk hunting. I put this scope on the rifle along with the precision 30mm scope rings. After I broke in the barrel, I went to a friend’s ranch and rung my first plate at 1000 yards. This scope simply works for me. The reticle gives me all the info i need without being cluttered. The turrets are solid, the zero adjustment is straight forward and the glass is beautifully clear. I like that Vortex put the reticle illumination along with the parallax adjustment. It makes the scope look a lot cleaner. This scope is actually my third Vortex. I put a Diamondback 3X9 on the Savage and a PST Gen 1 4X16 FFP on a AR 10. Each of them are a quality piece. One note about the Vortex warranty - when I purchased the rings, either the scope was on the large end of the tolerances or the rings were on the small end, but the scope wouldn't quite fit. I called Vortex and then sent me another set without question. I mounted everything up without any problems. I’m a dedicated Vortex fan. Along with the Warranty, their equipment works for me. I just bought a Razor HD 4000 range finder for my deer hunt next week. I'm looking forward to using my new rifle and range finder in the field.

I’ve had good luck with mine aside from the zoom ring being too tight. Had to buy a throw lever to turn it easily.

Let me start off with the summary - The scope is fantastic, has excellent clarity, solid, durable, tracks correctly and is backed by a top notch warranty, so if any of those questions were at mind, be at ease and go ahead with the purchase. Now, Why I chose second focal plane (SFP) over first focal plane (FFP). I am an east coast shooter and most of my shooting is within 300 yards. Much of todays publicity is stuck on FFP; while FFP is excellent for extended ranges (300 yards to 1,000 yards and beyond), the reticle clarity and quick target acquisition at lower magnifications of a SFP under 300 yards is superb and bullet drop on most calibers is negligible if the gun is sighted in at 100 yards. If you were to target something in excess of 300 yards, you will likely be on max 15 magnification anyway and can use your reticle for ranging and holdovers instead of adjusting turrets just the same as a FFP scope. Let me note that the field of view on this scope is phenomenal even on high magnification. I am providing input on SFP vs FFP as I've seen numerous local hunters buy a FFP scope based on YouTube Videos and publicity and wish they had a fixed clear SFP reticle for Hunting in the woods in low light as well as quick target acquisition in a self defense/closer range scenario. Personal recommendation for every day hunters and local range shooters would be the 3-15x44 PST Gen II in SFP to maximize field of view, excellent low light reticle and quick target acquisition. Long range hunters and shooters that almost exclusively target objects in excess of 300 yards should opt for the 5-25x50 PST Gen II in FFP for more magnification as well as the usage of reticle holdovers at any magnification required. Hopefully this review is helpful to all. Regardless of opinion, you can confidently Buy a Vortex Scope. Happy Shooting and Hunting to All -
The A.

I am on the second one of these, Both have problems with the turrets. My first one then I was trying to get the gun dialed in it would move about 2" at 100 yards instead of the 1/4" at 100 yards. I now have the second scope on my rifle they have sent me and the turret sticks. For example the gun is zeroed at 200 yards I spin the turret to 500 yards i have to shoot the rifle 2 or 3 times before it will allow the turret gears to move and then the 4 and 5 shot are dead on at 500. good glass, good zero stop poor turret set up.

Purchased this optic a few weeks ago to top off my 18.5 inch .308 build. I currently have about 200 total rounds through the system and I was able to take it out to 960 yards this past weekend with very good results. Optic is working as well as I had hoped. The glass is nice and clear, even at extended ranges. The adjustments are true and the zero stop works as intended. The magnification range of the 3-15x44 matches the intended range of the rifle perfectly. I only have one minor complaint and that is the scope cover that is included. It seems it would be more at home on a $100 optic than a $1000 optic. I get that Vortex would like me to purchase their scope caps separately but I feel that a high end scope should include something nicer. All and all I'm very happy with the purchase.

I got a really good deal on this scope and have since put it on a 22lr to compete in NRL22. I really enjoy the capabilities of the scope and the features it offers. It also has an amazing reticle if I haven't said that yet!

I bought the PST gen 1 last year and it is hands down my favorite scope I own. Turrets track very well and adjustments have been very precise, even shot a coyote at 800 yards with my 223 mounted with this scope. I have shot the gen 2 but do not own one. I would highly recommend either.

I purchased my PST Gen II several months ago for my Daniel Defense .308. I was attracted to this scope because of how pleased I’ve been with other vortex optics, the features, and glass clarity for the price of the Optic. I’m not disappointed at all. The scope feels and looks great on the AR-10 platform. Not too big, has plenty of magnification and great options for tactical/precision shooting. Though I haven’t spent much time behind the Setup yet, I’m greatly pleased with Optic for my intended use.

I purchased my scope with the EBR-2D reticle. It is slightly different than the 2C at a different price point. The glass is VERY clear. Even in low light, with the sun shade, I can see better through it than I can with my own eyes. Up close on the 3x magnification I can reach out past 100 yards with ease and at 15x magnification I can engage targets up to 1000 yards. This scope is much more accurate than I am! I love the zero stop I these turrets once I set them up. This is a perfect hunting ...
