As a birder/bird researcher, my binoculars are my most important piece of equipment, and they come with me everywhere in all conditions. I've been using Vortex viper 8x42 binoculars since high school, and they are awesome. I have always been happy with them, and have taken them on many adventures, including camping, backpacking, and intense field work. I finally had to utilize the warranty on them this spring, and I don't think I've ever had a better customer service experience. . .

I broke my binoculars in Costa Rica in April (probably from dropping them when I tripped and a custom strap gave out, the whole left side fogged from moisture on the inside). Contacted customer support and they sent me a shipping label free of charge and told me repair would take around 3 weeks.

I got them back in literally pristine new condition. They not only fixed the problem, but replaced all the lenses, the focus knob, the strap loops, and a handful of other components. They also gave me new lens caps, cleaned the binoculars free of charge, and applied extra waterproofing. The knobs are running incredibly smoothly and the glass is crystal clear. On top of all this, they even gently removed and returned the stickers I had on the binoculars! 

None of this cost me a cent. I wanted to share this for anyone on the fence about buying binoculars or a scope from Vortex Optics - this is the kind of warranty you are getting!

Awesome Product and Warranty!

Light weight but solid. Sleek but durable. Large eough for easy handling and adjustment but small enough to fit nicely in either a chest rig or small of the back when stialking. My opinion is they're best suited for an experienced user. Beginners wouldnt necessarily appreciate them and an expert may feel the galss is lacking but in the end, like all my Vortex purchases from Expert Voice, I'm very pleased.

Excellent value for the investment

I bought these having experience with both the Viper and the Razor lines and I was hoping for some good quality binos. When I took them out of the box, I was shocked at how compact and lightweight they are. I have been using a pair of Leupold marine 10x50s for the past few years and they did the job but were heavy and bulky. They didn't fit in the chest rug I just got from Eberlestock, so I thought I would try these, especially with the great sale price. 
The glass is pretty good?not as clear as you will get with some higher end products, but they gather plenty of light and are clear almost all the way to the edges. The focus dial requires VERY minimal input which I find very useful. These are great binos.

Small package, big capability

Works great with good clarity. Weight and size is wonderful and works as advertised. Great light transmission in low light usage.

Hunting and military use

I loved this pair of binos, I have taken them across the country for 3 seasons now and they have always performed amazingly every time I have needed them, but when they became life changing is when I was at the grand canyon and we where hiking down the canyon and ran into a grandfather, grandchild duo and they where admiring the surroundings well we stop next to them for a quick water break and a quick look thru the binos well from the corner of my eye I see the kid eyeball my binos and I offer him a look thru them and my wife hesitates and says " What if he drops them and they break" I turn around with a big smile and say "Don't worry Vortex had my Back there warranty is unmatched" that kid had the biggest smile looking thru those binos, the grandfather thanked me for making is grandkids day. can't wait for my next pair.

Sweet Glass with ease of mind included

I recently had a chance to field test these for birding under a variety of difficult conditions, including viewing backlit shorebirds on water as well as warblers under dark understory situations. I was very impressed at the clarity and light transmission of the binoculars under both conditions, as well as under the more well-lit conditions I encountered. For a very competitive price, they deliver excellent performance and value.

I bought them for a trip to Alaska, land and sea. They really enhanced the experience. Worth every penny. These will not disappoint. Great field of view and the clarity was outstanding. Not your grandmothers old set of binoculars on the back porch.

Great hunting binoculars. We also use them to scout out new hunting spots. They give you a great picture of animals. Lastly, the best binoculars for a great price backed by Vortex lifetime warranty!!!!!

10x50 Viper HD. Great optics! Brings life into the shadows. Could not justify spending 2-3-4x on Zeiss or Swarovski. Great warranty. Bought mine in 2013. Used/abused daily ever since. Sent them back twice for tuneups. Third time they sent me a new pair no charge.

Great spotting scope for the price, good starter spotting scope for beginners. If you aren't worried about size and weight for a spotting scope these will do the job. Spotting scope is bulky, so if looking to backpack in a long distance I'd check out other options.

I love the scope! I got the vortex tripod with it and it's light weight very clear and the right distance for some bird identification. customer service is also wonderful too!

I bought the Viper HD 15-45 x 65 after reading many reviews? for my intended use of scouting during hunting and distance shooting 300- 700 yards I determined this would be more than I needed. Even if I range further this scope is good to 1000+ yards. I haven't used during hunting yet as I just purchased? used at range several times and spotting antelope? to test out optics. I'm very pleased?excellent glass for the money! Also purchased Vortex Mountain Pass tripod? compact, lightweight, sturdy.

Quality Optics

These field glasses offer great clarity and as I've grown older my eyes don't always work the way they should. I stepped up in quality because I wanted to be able to clearly see a mule deer bucks antlers and these didn't disappoint. I bought the bino's back in 2019 and they haven't let me down, not once. Great light gathering in low light conditions!

I love this spotting scope for both long range target shooting and for hunting big game in Alaska. The clarity is excellent allowing me to detect movement more easily from long distance. The field of view provides a large area to seek out game. From a base camp or from spike camp I can glass large expanses of Alaska wilderness. When I'm practicing long range shooting, it allows me to identify my hits on target and make adjustments if necessary without walking all the way back out 500-1000 yards to check.

Powerful and clear

Glass is super clear pair it with a Ollin digascope. Nor much use yet besides glassing white tail deer and taking video. The spotting scope is amazing.

The quality of these binoculars are amazing that even when testing during low light I was able to see clearly.

Last binoculars I will ever need

These are such an amazing binocular for the price. I've has Swarovski and Leica binoculars in the past, and while they are certainly superior, these Vipers really aren't far off. They're lightweight for the size, and offer quite good low light performance.

These optics couldn't look clearer if my eyes actually had zoom. We use them primarily for bird and wildlife spotting, and they are worth every penny. The locks for your personal settings make day to day use a breeze, and they fold together completely (unlike other brands) to give you a single focal view regardless of preference. I recommend throwing your current binoculars out, and running to this set for this price. HD doesn't even begin to describe the clarity.
