So I bought this Adapter and as others have said it is a little hard to get in and off. So here is what I came up with. 3/8 drive extension and 14 mm socket and it goes on and off much easer. 1/4 drive would work also. Here are some pics. I hope this helps.

At first I thought the adapter was a pretty bad design. It was difficult to attach with fingers (but not too bad with my Maven 10x42, though some binos with larger lenses might be impossible). There was also a lot of play and wobble. HOWEVER, I took it apart and added a tiny plastic washer between where the vertical post attaches to the mounting bolt. This tightened everything up and still makes on/off attachment easy enough! Now I can recommend this adapter but without this washer, it's very frustrating to use.

I bought this adapter for my Diamondback 10X42 binoculars to add usability with a tripod. Super easy to install (fully open or close the binocs) and rugged enough for long term use in the field.

Just bought this mount and a pair of diamondback HD 10x50. Got home and tried to mount them to a tripod. First problem is it’s a super tight fit for your fingers to try and tighten the screw down. When it got too tight for me to move I noticed the next issue. It never actually gets tight against the binoculars. The binos just sit there and rock side-to-side on the mount. My first thought was “no way.” I mean how can a company that makes optics not figure out a mount. So I tried to tighten it with a pair of pliers. Gave it a quarter turn more and didn’t want to go any further for fear of breaking something. I scratched up the tripod adapter in the process so now I don’t know what to do. Hopefully Cabelas has another option and will accept a return.

Bought a pair of Diamondback binoculars which I love and then bought this tripod adapter that I actually hate! How can a company that puts out such great optics and I have two rifle scopes as well make an adapter for their optics that don't work? I may as well have taken the money and burned it. First it doesn't even get close to tightening to the bino's, and then when it's as tight as you can get it the binos just sways side to side on the tripod. How did the design of this get through production? I know it's only twenty-five dollars, but now I have to return it, now I have to go buy something else and search for it, just so disappointed after I had to wait three weeks to get it.

Great idea but found it very difficult to put on. Not much space between the lens housing for you fingers to screw adapter in tight. Eventually stripped out the nut trying to screw in adapter over and over. I've since moved to the Outdoorsman quick release and its a breeze. Still a Vortex fan but just not for this accessory.

I have had this adapter for 2 years now and I have loved it. I mount it to the top of my hiking pole during the hunt so I can quickly attach my binos if needed. The problem I have is while hiking the bolt rattled out and now I have to buy a new one. I wish the retaining ring was something better than just threaded. It would make this product perfect for hiking into the back country.

I have the diamondback 10x50 and this adapter is a pain. Worst design ever. Need to extend the screw. And it also does not tighten down all the way. You need to make a quick release

I bought this bino tripod adapter two years ago, and it has worked well untill today. That being said I do not recommend this product for backcountry use. I leave adapter attached to my kaibabs and today I take my binos out of my pack and this is what I find. I'm still a huge vortex fan, and their glass is all I use. VIP warranty is not much good out here. Looks like I needed a heavy duty alternative.

Used this for the last 2 years on my mountain hunts, great addition to my pack as my kidney transplant anti-rejection meds cause minor trembles making it hard to see anything at distance clearly. my only complaint is that the screw tang isn't quite long enough and it's hard to tighten the mount to the binos quickly and easily. it would be nice if it was shorter so I wouldn't have to remove it to put in my chest pack when moving out.

Tried to used this adapter on multiple sets of binos. As others have said, you can't get it tight unless you use pliers, since the end is set between the bino tubes. A stud and quick release would be better. Would be fine if you ALWAYS kept it on, but it is too tall to then fit any binos in any case/pouch.

Bought for my Diamondback 10x50’s. Unable to finger tighten sufficiently so the binoculars wobble laterally. A longer shaft and/or a universal joint would speed up installation time considerably. Raccoon fingers might help but they take too long to train.

I bought this at the turn of the year, i have used it alot. Great for helping with scouting and looking for sheds. It helped me find 3 sheds this year and save my legs from walking to a false shed alot. One minor downfall is i have 50mm binoculars, and it is hard to tighten the wing nut with my average sized hands. Other than that it is an essential part of equipment. I plan on using it on my trigger sticks this fall antelope hunting in Wyoming.

Great piece to have for those long spot and stalks. Very easy to attach. Small and easy to pack

Quality product but not very functional. THis adapter has to be removed from your binos every time you want to put them back in your chest harness and is a pain in the butt to even get on your binos in the first place. if yuo hace chop-sticks for fingers and like to fumble around with your adapter then this might be the adapter for you. I would recomend the Outdoorsmans Bino Adapter over this one.

I got this a year ago with the summit car window mount. They both pair up nicely with my Viper HD 12x50's. The only thing I do not like about it is it is difficult to get on and off the binos. You have to squeeze your fingers between the binos and can only get about a half a turn at a time. If you guys made a screwdriver like tool for it it would work fantastic.

I just got the 15x56 Vulture HD which I'm very happy with. I found I can freehand on glassing up to 400 yards and closer but you most certainly want a steady base at anything further out. A flaw was I needed a pair of needle nose pliers to tighten up the Tripod Adapter as well as putting an extra washer to snug up the play that I was experiencing(not sure if I just didn't receive a washer or not?) Being its a pain to take on and off its little cumbersome and annoying to go from freehand to the tripod so it be nice to have the Adapter a bit more user friendly. Attaching to a quick disconnect is key from going to a window mount to a tripod. Hope this helps and good hunting...

For the price, this thing is awesome. Easy way to mount my Binos onto my camera tripod to make any kind of glassing so much easier! A few things to note: it's a tight fit on my 8.5x50 Diamondbacks, really tight. It's also a little loose fitting even after cranking it down. I might add a washer or small oring just to fit it tighter. Also to really make the most you need a quick disconnect, a standard one to mount cameras. With that you can use full range of motion for the tripod head. All around great product and I can't wait to glass for hours on end.

If your going to keep it on it’s great, if not I’d think about something else. At least with my diamondback 10x42’s and 12x50’s it’s difficult to get tights. In the field you want quick access to your bino/tripod setup, this is gonna take bit to get setup. Needs a different setup to tighten down for sure.

Bought this for long glassing sessions with my vortex viper hd 10x42's. Worked perfectly, easy to use and never got loose on me. Awesome feature is if you have multiple pairs of binos, it connects quickly. My buddy was even able to put his binos on my tripod (ill leave the brand out of it and worked great for his too.

I bought this tripod adapter for a pair of Diamondback 10x50 binoculars. It can be a little difficult to install as other reviewers have mentioned, but it is definitely worth the effort. Mounting the binoculars to a tripod really increases the amount of time that you can spend glassing and by removing the shake caused by your hands, it really helps to make the picture appear even sharper. I used the tripod mount in a long range shooting competition in New Mexico and having it mounted steady not only reduced the fatigue from holding it to spot for other shooters, but made it possible to see the bullet trace on a number of the shots. I would definitely recommend a tripod mount if you are spending time glassing from a stationary position.

A must have item to attach your binos to a tripod. Save your eyes and buy this.

The tripod adapter is durable but it is a pain in the but to attach on my Kaibab HD15s and I have to use the pliers on my multi tool to attach/detach them which takes time and can be a pain especially when you are trying to pack up your gear quick to chase after any given animal. My suggestion, PLEASE design a quick detachment! One it’s on your tripod though it is sturdy and makes glassing a breeze.

Picked this up for long glassing days and well worth it. Buy it now, you won't regret it. I do recommend putting a little oil on the threads. It was difficult to thread in but with the dab of oil worked great.

I love that i can put my binoculars on my tripod and this is a very good quality product. The only reason i give it 4 stars is because on my 12x50 binoculars it is hard to screw on.

This adapter works great for steadying binos on a tripod. I use this with my Diamondback 10x42s. It does the trick, but is difficult to get on and off given the tight space. I would recommend these if you plan to leave the binos on the adapter full time, but not so much if you plan to put it on and take it off frequently.

Simple product, makes glassing with binos so much more effective. Have spotted much more game I would have otherwise missed. This method of glassing was probably the single biggest game changer for me during the 2017 hunting season. Small, light, simple, durable, and effective.

The Vortex fit my Leupold 12x50s well. Rock steady. I couldn't find anything locally that fit the close barrels on the 50s, except a $125 Swrovski model, which certainly was not worth 7 times the price.

The Vortex binocular tripod adapter is a great accessory for viewing through large, or heavier, binoculars with less stress with which you can enjoy watching wildlife and more.
