This is a great entry-level scope for my . 22 rifle. It was easy to mount and sight. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a good scope with an amazing Vortex warranty.

Eye relief was fantastic. Slapped it onto a R92 Triple Black, with Leupold See-Thru rings, and was able to utilize both the scope, and irons. Very happy man.

No dislikes yet! Working well on my Ruger precision 22WMR. Was weird at first having it so far forward compared to traditional scope mount but I love it now! Great Scope! Great warranty! Great price!

Bought this scope to deer hunt with my Springfield Scout Squad. Most of my shots are quick reaction within 200yds. Great scope for the money. Optical clarity is good and the eye relief works well will the Scout Squad. The cross hairs are basic, but everything that you need for a fast shot inside of 200yds. Overall, this is a solid, basic scope that gives great value for the price. If you are a newish hunter or are looking for a robust, basic sight system that gives a similar field of view to iron sights this is a great place to start.

I have been using it on a Scout rifle in 308 for few years and the scope has been performing admirably. I have mine mounted on Warne QD rings. Excellent value for the money.

I mounted this to a Ruger Gunsite Scout . 308 rifle using vortex rings. I set up a target at 100 yards and hit it on the first shot. No adjustments needed to this scope if you want to keep your rifle zeroed at 100 yards. I was able to consistently hit targets at 100 and 130 yards on my first attempt with this scope.

Well make sure to not drink when going through scopes as I missed this being a scout scope and not a traditional scope. 100% my fault for being an idiot but on the plus side, ended up buying a scout rifle to go with the scope.

I love my Vortex products and this one is no exception. It has crystal-clear site picture and perfect eye relief is perfectly on my M1A Scout Squad. It also delivers impressive light transmission, making it ideal for various lighting conditions."

The glass is clear, durable construction, and the eye relief pairs well with a Springfield M1A Scout Squad.

It's got more eye relief than 9". Mine has to be 12 or 13". It's too much for the rifle I was planning to install it on. But I probably have one it will fit.

When looking for a scout optic in 2024, your options are limited. I sprung for a Burris fixed magnification optic that was over twice the price at first. I found that optic to be underwhelming and wanted the option to reach out further. I love my other Vortex products, so I gave this a shot. For the price, it's a steal. The image starts to distort around the edges at 7 power, but the center 80% is crystal clear. 4.5 mm exit pupil at max power is good enough for most light conditions. Simple, versatile reticle and floatable turrets lets you dial in your shots to reach out and touch something. It's not a high end product, but if you need a scout optic, this is my recommendation. Vortex, if you're reading this, consider making one in the diamondback series with a BDC. I will give you more money.

I threw this on a Springfield m1a scout. It had an eotech on it but I wanted to try a scout style setup. Had a hard time zeroing it. And just running it wasn't for me. I love vortex with their pricing and support but this optic didn't work out.

Eye relief is perfect, built very well. Installed on a 1945 Mosin, the optic was easy to zero and held zero through 600 rounds

This is the first scout scope in my collection, it gives a large gap of eye relief which allows for more are of view. With my 45/70, it's a perfect match.

This optic is very clear and the eye relief is exactly what I needed to mount on my CVA Scout pistol. I am a huge fan of the quality and durability of the Vortex scopes. I have more than a dozen of the Vortex scopes and all perform above expectations. This product is perfect for the entry-level user as well as the most experienced. You will not be disappointed in this scope or any in the Vortex lineup.

Great Clarity and the glass gives a crisp image. It can give some distortion around the edges with the long eye relief, but I only notice it on max power. Its great in the woods and mountains of Colorado. Its worth putting on any scout rifle.

Fits well on my lever action. Accurate and easy to use.

I got this to use on my Henry Leveraction and it performs great. the enormous eye relief is a great attraction for shooting the lever guns. Moves the scope away from the hammer, and I am able to keep it down on the gun. mounted to a XS extended rail and worked out perfect, Highly recommended for anyone who would like a nice hunting scope for the straight wall lever actions.

The concept of the scout rifle is not new but this scope breathes life into a underappreciate concept of philosophy of use. With excellent eye relief and more than enough magnification, this scope turns a simple bolt action or lever gun into a perfect truck gun or walk and stalk rifle for hunting. This scope is suited for all those interested in the concept of scout rifles. The only downside is the small objective lens but then again anything bigger would add weight and weight is the enemy of a scout.

Like the scope and the clarity, but the eye relief seemed a little crazy. Mounted it on a Henry 357 magnum rifle. Mounted scope as far up on mount as possible. Have to hold rifle about 2 to 3 inches off of my shoulder to get full view of scope internally..

Perfect to round out my Marlin Ruger 45-70 build. Excels at 2-5x magnification. 7x magnification is very shaky but I don't use it much with short range 45-70 caliber. Better price than Burris and works well. Using the Vortex Pro Series medium rings keeps the scope a comfortable height above bore.

I mounted the crossfire II SCOUT 2-7x32 on a Marlin 1895 SBL, I am not disappointed at all. It is an amazing optic!! The turrets are capped which are really nice for a field gun, when adjusting the dials its a very positive tactile feel. The duplex style reticle is really nice as well. Vortex was not kidding when they said it's between 9 and 11 inches of eye relief, you'll never have to worry about getting scope bite with this level of eye relief. On a .45-70 it holds zero really well and doesn't get knocked out of spec.

I like the item. It didn't fit the weapon I purchased it for. I swapped it for a different weapon. It works great for that though! If I had it to do again I would have purchased the right version of that scope.

Durable and affordable

This scout scope was the first vortex I’ve owned. Set it up on my marlin SBL in 45/70 because I was not happy with my red dot set up. Loved it so much I’ve now bought another for my 30/30. It’s a value for money durable scope. Simple and easy to use, can take all the punishment and recoil the 45/7O can dish up
Takes a beating
By TheJarvo25
I bought this scope for my .450 bushmaster deer gun. Wanted a scout scope for running shots and to have a good eye distance to account for the large recoil. The first competitor scout scope I had on the rifle broke within 30 rounds. Blew a seal and lens. Decided to upgrade due to my knowledge of Vortex quality and the warranty. Scope has held its zero and consistently takes a beating both from the rifle and while out hunting. Will be buying vortex for all of my scopes after this.
Versatile, practical, utilitarian, and just plain cool-Scout rifles hold a special place in many hunters and shooters hearts. So Vortex created a scope specifically designed to optimize the performance characteristics of the platform. With an incredibly generous 9.45" eye relief to accommodate forward mounting, and a 2-7 zoom range, the Vortex Scout Scope is the perfect optic for any job you and your scout rifle want to throw at it.
