Very nice tripod however quick release is not compatible with other vortex products.

We love the tripod. It is sturdy and fits our spitting scope well. The only problem is that the quick release plate is not compatible with other vortex products. We bought a window mount to clog on vacation and the window mount uses a Arca-Swiss quick release plate and this tripod uses a square very different quick release plate. Make sure before you buy that your quick release plates match or you will have to be continually changing the plates.

Great Warranty

I bought this tripod a couple of years ago. Through several outings, and rough use, I had some issues with one of the legs. I sent it back to Vortex and they fixed it. I'm so happy with their customer service and warranty. I have a hard time looking anywhere else when it comes to tripods and optics because of my experiences with Vortex.

Nice Tripod

I have had the Pro GT for a couple seasons so far and really like it. It is stout and tall. I am 6'4" tall and can stand behind this tripod and glass. I have also used this tripod as a walking stick at times of the terrain was getting nasty, and it has been great. This isn't Vortex's preferred use, but in a pinch it worked. I did change the tripod head on this to the ball head mount from a different vortex tripod a buddy had given me. The mount that comes with it is nice, I just liked the ball head better. The only downside to this tripod is it is a little heavy.

VIP Warranty #1

I purchased the Pro GT Tripod over a year ago to go along with the spotting scope I purchased at the same time. I use them in support of my long distance matches. After loaning the scope and tripod to a friend I was informed the quick release lever had broke. I made a call to customer services figuring I would be lucky to find the lever and if they had one I would have to pay an arm and a leg. Was I surprised when they had the part and if was covered by the life time warranty. No issues or questions. The part was shipped to me for free and I had my tripod up and working within the week. You can't beat buying a Vortex product and the VIP warranty. I also have 3 of their scopes for my rifles and recommend them to my friends.

Best tripod I've ever used.

I recently purchased this GT Pro tripod for my diamond back spotting scope. I had a cheaper tripod and upgrading was the best thing I've done since purchasing my spotting scope. These two were literally made for each other. Vortex uses the finest quality materials to produce the finest products. As always keep up the good work Vortex you all are awesome.

Solid, smooth, heavy.

If you want a rock solid tripod with a single handle that gives your spotting scope smooth-as-glass movement, and you don't mind the weight, this is the one for you. I've packed it on hunts a bit but it's more suited for near-vehicle use due to its weight of 4.4 pounds . Don't tell my boss, but I use this thing nearly every day because I have a home office window overlooking my food plots. I'm going to buy the High Country for packing, but this thing can't be beat as a solid base for your heavy (and expensive) glass!

Fantastic

I have this tripod for my Fury Rangefinding binos. It is very well made and well machined. It takes some firm pressure to move it around and is very smooth when it does move! Would highly recommend purchasing if you need that steady hand for long range glassing/range finding.

Solid Tripod!

I've been really happy with this tripod! Not only do I use it for all my hunting glass I've been using it for my video camera. It's extremely sturdy and solid, I haven't had any issues with the wind making it sway or blow over. I also really like the numerous adjustment points for height and angle!

Picked up the trypod not good

Just got my new Razer hd scope and tripod in. The scope is ok. but the tripod is junk. the scope wobbles all over . The base does not tighten down and I can't see through with it flopping all over. Going hunting in 1 week.

Very good tripod

I love using this tripod. One of the major reasons why is because I am in a wheelchair and it is very easy for me to use with my hands. I know that I do not have to worry about size and weight but I have put this tripod through a lot and it has not disappointed. It is also very easy to scan with using the pan handle and it holds steady in the wind. Excellent tripod.

Way more than I expected.

I bought this tripod in a package deal with my Razor spotting scope. Thought I would need to get a short one for prone shooting, wrong. I opened it up and the legs have 3 spread positions that take it to the ground. The pan head is very smooth does not creep or wiggle. The scope stays where you stop. Very robust stand.

Stable platform

Good quality construction. Very stable under my 85mm potting scope. Positive lock on the leg adjustments. Silky pan and tilt on the optic mount. Can't ask for much more in a tripod.

Very stable

This is a very stable tripod that does well with heavier optics and can handle the wind. The legs adjust easily. The head is very fluid. I’m able to glass hillsides and pinpoint spots with ease. I was able to spot a bear across a canyon that I probably wouldn’t have noticed using my cheaper tripod due to the ease of the head rotating easily for a grid pattern type glassing.

Great heavy duty stand

I bought this for my new razor hd 27-60x85. This works perfectly for this scope. It’s heavy duty and strong. Easy to adjust the legs and head. Will say the only down side is how heavy it is. Not great if going to do a backpacking trip to hunt. Would need something lighter. I don’t have that problem so this works great for me.
