Perfect All Around AR Scope

I bought this to put on my three gun AR and I absolutely love it! It is true 1x. At close ranges with the illuminated reticle it’s like shooting a red dot. Then at longer ranges the reticle is fine enough to make perfect precision shots. The glass is also excellent, even in low light conditions detail sticks out.

Excellent optics at a reasonable price

I installed this Viper PST 1-4x24 scope on a AR-15 rifle with a 16 inch barrel configuration. I was very impressed with the 1x magnification and the ability to survey multiple targets with both eyes open. A quick twist of the hand and you are at 4x magnification for more accurate shots at extended ranges. The illuminated feature is nice and turrets adjust with a fair amount of tension and audible clicks. Thanks Vortex for a well built optic.

Rugged and clear!

I have been using the Viper PST 1-4x24 for several years now. First off, I am always amazed at the clarity of the glass each time I look through it. Secondly, I am not easy on equipment as it gets tossed in the truck, dropped, knocked over and used in some fairly harsh conditions. But the Viper PST has stood up to everything I have thrown at it. The Viper line of optics from Vortex are the best bang for the buck (puns intended)

Great optic

I have 2 of these optics one on a rifle that is set up for 3 gun and the other on a shorty 300blk. The glass is great and I like the reticle. The only downfalls I have found aren’t major but I’m not a fan of the tactical turrets and the zero stop isn’t always consistent. I like them and I use them both regularly.

AMAZING Scope!!!

I purchased this scope off of Brownells on a sale for a steal, and let me tell you it was worth the money!! It has amazing clarity, the reticle is great, I love the what that the reticle has stops between the brightnesses.I would highly recommend this scope to a friend to put on their AR, SCAR, or any tactical rifle!!!! It is a great scope for 3-gun, self defense or just hunting!

Best 1-4x In this Price Range

I recommend this to anybody looking to get into the world of variable optics. The turrets are nice and stiff, glass is clear, and the low light performance is better than anything I've experienced previously. I expect to use this scope for countless years. My only complaint is that the illumination isn't always bright enough and washes out on sunny days.

Great Optic

I love this scope! Probably one of my favorite Vortex scopes I own. Its versatility is amazing. I mainly use it on my MK18 for close quarter use as well as those 100+ yard shots. The reticle with the center dot fit both these needs. While I don't shoot 3-Gun, I can see this being a great option.

Fantastic Scope

I have been using the Viper PST 1-4 tactical for around four years now. I have mounted it on two different AR-15 rifles, and I love this optic. It is extremely versatile being a 1-4 power. The reticle is great for close work on targets or far shots on coyotes. My one complaint is with the magnifier ring, it can be difficult to turn with gloves on at times. This is a minor issue with me as I usually run it at 1 power and only dial it up with shooting at longer distances. Thanks Vortex for such a great product.

Best Glass for your Budget!

I've had this scope for about a year or so on my AR and it's fantastic. Best glass for the money. You would have to double or triple the cost to get anything better. It's illuminated with OFF settings located between each brightness and since it's a true 1x, it works just as well as a red dot, granted a little heavier but you get the benefit of a 4x when you need it. My only complaint is that the magnification ring is a little stiff but that could be a good thing too. I just wrapped a thick zip-tie around it and use the knot as a throw lever. It's a great 2 cent addition! I have no regrets and I would buy another in a heartbeat the next time I need another 1-4x.

Excellent for the Price

This was my first Vortex scope. I have always used another brand of scopes. The features available on the Viper PST were not available at this price point from other manufacturers. I've been so pleased with this optic that I bought a second. This scope was easy to mount and sight in and the turrets make for easy on the fly adjustments. The illumination is also widely adjustable and I have found a setting for every environment in which I've used it.

Amazing scope- great glass and great company

Ive had this scope on 2 different rifles (.556 and .308) and it has performed flawlessly. Quick target / reticle acquisition, good brightness level and solid adjustment options. Turrets are firm and dont feel mushy like other scopes in this price range. The Viper PST scopes are fantastic glass and perfect for AR platforms.

I liked my red dot for fast target acquisition. These are just as fast and the minor weight you gain is well worth it for the magnification gain to make those longer shots accurately.

Glad I spent the Money

Without being too specific... I'll say that I needed this optic to perform outside of the safe in a very large way. This optic has seen some match use, but more importantly it has spent plenty of time in a trunk with plenty of hard driving. New models have come out, but when push came to shove, there isn't another optic on the market I would have rather had on top of my Colt

Nice optic

I was really suprised at the clarity of the glass for the price. A good fit for me instead of a dot with add on magnification. A clean lit reticule when I want it, or a more traditional low power scope for work out a ways.
