A First Focal Plane (FFP) reticle scales in size as you adjust the magnification. This means the reticle's subtensions used for ranging, holdovers, and windage corrections are accurate at any magnification, enhancing precision in long-range shooting.
The RZR Zero Stop mechanism is designed to prevent the turret from dialing below the sight-in range. This allows you to quickly return to your original zero setting after making temporary elevation changes for long-range shots.
The ArmorTek coating is an ultra-hard, scratch-resistant layer that protects the exterior lenses of the riflescope. It shields the lenses from scratches, oil, and dirt, ensuring the longevity and clarity of your optics.
The tactical-style exposed turrets on the Viper PST Gen II Riflescope allow for quick and accurate adjustments to windage and elevation. The fiber optic rotation indicator provides a visible and tactile reference point for turret rotations, aiding in rapid target acquisition and shot placement.
Yes, the Viper PST Gen II Riflescope features an illuminated reticle, which provides precise aiming in low-light conditions. This makes it a versatile choice for various shooting scenarios, from dawn to dusk.

I have two Vortex Viper PST gen 2 5-25x50 FFP scopes. The optical clarity of these scopes is superb. In daylight when the weather is clear and heat mirage isn't bad I have no trouble seeing 7mm bullet holes in plain white paper clearly at 450 yards. The reticle marks let me measure for scope adjustment without leaving the bench. I have a problem with lady bugs getting on my targets -- they look like bullet holes. In excellent visibility conditions, I can see the slight oblong shape difference of a lady bug vs a round bullet hole at 450 yards. The adjustable turret dial position and RTZ thing is handy and lets me have both my 7mm rifles adjusted the same -- I know the scope dial settings to be zero at whatever range are the same for whichever rifle I grab. The two scopes I have behave differently with the parallax setting, and I don't know how to adjust them to be the same. At 300 yard range, one scope's parallax setting is good when the knob dial is between '200' and '300'; the other scope parallax at 300 yards is good when the knob dial is well past '300' and close to '500'. I wish parallax knobs could be adjusted for dial position to be the same for both scopes.

I got my first PST II a out 8 years ago to put on my custom . 300 RUM and I absolutely love it. I love if so much O bought a second one for my 6. 5 PRC. The glass is crisp and clear. The EBRC-7 MOA reticle is easy to use and adjusts quickly. I'm taken deer, elk and antelope using this scope as well as LR shooting. I won't go to the field without it. Dependable turret tracking, nice paralax adjustment, and accurate reticle. Built to last.

I've owned this optic for about a year now and I couldn't be happier with the quality of it. I've been getting more into LRP and this was my first higher end scope. The FFP and Zero Stop features are game changers. Once I got it zeroed in, it's been an amazing piece of equipment to top my Tikka Tac A1 .308 with. Heading to Cameo in Grand Junction, Colorado this weekend for a shooting event and looking to get well beyond 1000 yds. The only thing as good if not better than the best products on the market are the pro staff at Vortex. Every single person I've ever dealt with there over the years has been so friendly and so professional with real world suggestions and pro tips. You don't get that kind of service and product quality everywhere. Vortex absolutely has a customer for life in this Marine. Thank you all for what you do! ~Sammy

Put this on a howa hcr in .308 and I jist couldn't be happier. I'm no expert. But I got it sighted in pretty easy and the zero stop was better than advertised. I was shooting .75" groups before long. For 1k you can't get a better scope. Not to mention I've yet to find better customer service than vortex. I've lost caps on other scopes and they don't even ask questions. They just send you teplacement. Really great company.

I have handled good glass and bad glass in my lifetime. For what you get and what you pay, this riflescope WAAAAAY over-delivers. I bought mine 11 years ago. I think mine was a Gen 1. I have had it on my precision rifle since and I have won several shooting matches with it. It's clear, hold zero and is rugged. I am able to range with it easily and put lead on target as rapidly as my old eyes will allow. My first shot to 1200 yards was with this scope. I would easily put this up against a 'top end' scope brand. And I know from previous dealings that Vortex will take care of me. Lost a cap to my Strikefire on one of my carbines and they sent me 2 AND a hat, free of charge. Even when I have had money left over after building a gun, I have always chosen Vortex even though I had money to spend on something else. I would have no problem trusting my life to them.

Great scope. Tuff, reliable, accurate but the amount of coyotes that I've missed because the turrets move in the pickup and scabbard could have paid for the scope. Go with the strike eagle!

I have had this optic for a little know. I had an issue with the optic due to the "gunsmith" over torquing the rings. But customer service was awesome, as I was able to use this optic on an antelope hunt this year. An it was awesome. But it has 1 flaw that I noticed. It FOGS up! During antelope season this year I was hunting roughly 8500-9k elevation. Takes 9 years to get this tag, a the mornings where roughly ~25*F, no snow, no fog, just a little chillie. I had made the perfect stock an had 3 antelope come right to me. I had taken the weapon off my shoulder. As I looked down the optic it was fogged up. I did everything in my power to try to clear the lenses. But it would just fog right back up. So since I've been using anti fog spray an that seems to do the trick. But just be wary to take an extra step so it doesn't happen to you

This scope rocks. It helped me get Rifleman patch at Appleseed Known Distance 200Y. The glass is great; zero stop was easy to set. We were dialing up and down for various distances all weekend. It was right on. I was super confident on this mil scope. I would buy another If needed for another rifle.

I have been happy with my PST Gen 1 scopes for years and thought my old eyes probably wouldn't notice an improvement with the Gen 2...... I was really wrong on this one! This scope is quite exceptional and though I've only taken it out to 4oo yds, I was able to easily see bullet splash and impact at 15x. I am using a ADM AD-Recon-20moa-30mm-std mount which gives me the ideal eye relief and height. As configured, I have 19.5 mils of elevation available. This will take it out past Black Hills Mk262 77gr practical range and expect 700+ when I do my part. Setting the zero stop is easy and much improved over the shims on the Gen 1. (though the Gen 1 stop does have the advantage of dialing down a little if you need too). Overall as with ever thing Vortex, I'm pleased way beyond expectations and will continue to purchase their products as needed and then some! BTW, the medium Vortex cover fits perfect with Defender caps in place so this baby will be protected during transport.
