With one year of use I find them to be of Excellent Quality and from Hiking to Hunting. They have been very clear and bright and not to heavy or light just right. I don't give 5 Stars easy these deserve it.

These binoculars are excellent. Great clarity and very durable for long expeditions. Also, great customer service from vortex for issues that arise from wear and tear.

I purchased the Razor HD 8x32 from the wonderful store, Jay's Bird Barn in Prescott, Arizona about two years ago. I use them primarily for birding and occasionally for astronomy (the Beehive Cluster is a fantastic sight through these things). For birding they are great for close work such as my back yard Hummingbird feeder just 10 feet from the chair on my deck. For medium distances they also provide excellent, wonderfully clear views.

Great glass and light transmission. Learn about exit pupil and you'll understand why. Love the magnification level of these for walking and glassing without tripod support. The FOV and steadiness helop you pick out things that you might miss with higher magnification but no support. Buy with confidence. I think that these are probably the best value for your money without stepping up to Swaro or Razor UHD, both of which are a significant cost bump.

I wear eyeglasses and it is great if a set of binos gives me the option to view without removing my glasses. The UHD 10x50 allows this, and so does the Razor HD 8x42. They are better than the Viper 8x42 in this respect even though the eye relief on the spec sheet is less. Friendly reminder that the effective eye relief is never just the eye relief on a spec sheet, especially when comparing different brands/lines. Glass? Exceptional, as you'd expect with the Razor name. Easy handling, great glass, large exit pupil, and great eye relief have made these my go-to bino. Love my UHD 10x50, but the 8x42 is 12 ounces lighter and easier to live with.

The excellent size and wait works well for birding and birdwatching, the solid and rugged construction guarantees durability in all weather and terrain. Quality glasses and definition when observing the bird's details.

Amazing clarity in a really nice looking package. By far the best value bins you can buy.

I've been using these bins for about two years. I use them primarily for birding. I really like the weight and feel of the optic in my hands. They are easy to bring up to your eyes, and the focus knob works very well. I can force a small amount of chromatic aberration, but it is not noticeable in every day use. The glass is fantastic; extremely bright and clear. My only real complaint is that the coating is not super grippy. I wish for just a bit more texture. Other than that these are absolutely fantastic.

Bought these as an upgrade to a pair of Diamondback binoculars, which are also great for the price. These are a significant upgrade and well worth the cost.

My family has a set of these to look across the pond and lake at the birds and wildlife. Vortex will always be a favorite brand but still so expensive.

Absolutely love these binos. Used them on several hunts out west and constantly have my friends asking to look through them. Price can't be beat on glass of this quality.

I've owned a pair of these 8x42 Razor HD's for over a year now and I love them. Easily the best binoculars you can have with you on a hunting trip...(and I have owned brand S and brand Z high end glass. You can feel the quality in these from the moment you pick them up. The resolution and edge-to-edge sharpness is impressive and makes you want to constantly glass while hunting. Yesterday I was able to spot a wild boar over an hour before sunrise at 198 yards. The shooter was unable to see the hog with their rifle scope but with these 8x42's I could clearly pick out the direction the hog was facing as well as other details. Prior to the hog arriving in the field I spent some time star gazing. Yes these binoculars can be used for this! You will see details on the moon that makes you wonder why you had never done this before. When panning from side to side you are not going to have a rolling-ball effect that will make you feel dizzy or sick. The 8x42's are always with me when I am in the field. Get you a pair...I plan on adding the 12x50 model for long range glassing to go with my 8x42's and my 20-60x85 Razor HD Spotting scope.

I’ve used my Diamondback 8x42 for 2 years of bowhunting in Wisconsin. Excellent clarity in lowlight. Rock solid performance from heat and humidity of early season to cold and snow of late season. Highly recommended.

I try to get the best value for my money and these are it. Very crisp. Everyone that has used mine has also loved the image. You can see every hair and swirl on big game. Saving up to get the spotting scope to compliment it.

Bought the Razor HD mainly for birding. Looked around for top of the line binoculars and stumbled across Vortex, compared it with the highest priced brands and must say that I was very impressed! It delivers top of the line sharpness and the build quality is very impressive. It also handles low light conditions at a level I did not think was possible. Have recommended those optics to everyone who asked what to buy. In other words I’m very happy with my Razors (Did also buy the top of the line Razor spotting scope

Bought a 8x42 Diamondback binocular to use for deer hunting fields and small woodlots. These binos are unbelievably clear. I got them on sale online and wish now I would have bought a 10x42 also as they were on sale for the same price. The adjustments are easy to use even in sub-freezing temperatures. They have held up very well through 2 deer seasons plus some predator hunting. Recommended to anyone looking for binos with clear edge to edge glass and sharp sight pictures.

Great binos for hunting both sides of the Mississppi. Next pair will be 10x or 12x since recently I’ve started glassing from a tripod. My buddy has 10x viper HDs and was astounded at how comparable mine were to his as far as brightness and clarity.

The 8x42 razor hd's are an excellent choice for spot and stalk hunting. This past weekend I used my 12x50 razors hd's to glass up a family of javalina at over 800 yards. I left them on the tripod and took off with only my rifle and my 8x42's around my neck. Stopping to glass every 100 yards or so with my razors I was able to get within 100 yards and make a perfect shot. The clarity and easy one handed operation performed flawless.

I think it was a bad decision for Vortex to move manufacturing to China. I just bought a new Vortex Razor HD 8x42 that was made in China from B&H. Usually, I don't require any diopter adjustment. Even with diopter adjusted to it's maximum my right eye could not be focused. The binocular was totally defective. I returned it for refund and I will never buy another Vortex product. It's makes me wonder if Vortex is inspecting the binoculars coming from China and it definitely makes me think that China's QC is not equal to Japan. I have not had any trouble with Vortex products in the past.

I've bought these over a year ago and they have been awesome. They are easy and quick to use. The vision out of them is crystal clear. Not only do I use these hunting but they are in my truck with me every single day. The best thing about the vortex products is the awesome warranty they have.

I bought my 8 x 42 on sale at Cabelas. It was the best investment I could have made. Clear, bright, and with a great price.
