Great all around Modern Sporting Rifle Scope

A 1-10 is a very hard optic to make well but Vortex has done it better than anyone else. If you're looking for one scope for zero to 600 yards plus this is a great option. I have been running one a couple of years and really like it.

Takes a beating and keeps going

I slipped on ice at a match with rifle in hand and attempted to break my fall with the hand my rifle was in. The 1-10 razor took the full brunt of me (200lbs) plus the 35lbs of gear I was wearing straight to the battery compartment/illumination control knob. The very next stage required hits at 500 meters?. . and i am stoked to report that the scope held zero. 500 meter first round impact after taking a spill like that was beyond impressive. Purchase with confidence

Black is beautiful

I already own one of the Gen III Razors, and I would buy another one if you guys made it in black. Otherwise, I'll need to buy a different optic.

Love my razor but...

Best optic I've ever had, highly reccomend but how is it a lpvo that's probably the top dog on the market worth thousands of dollars vortex dosent, and I can't find anyone else who make a threaded anti reflection device like the sunshade that comes with it.. this blows my mind and I would love it if vortex made that. I'd buy one.

DMR èspecial

Vortex Fan Boy here. 1 1-10 and 2 1-6 razors, a viper pst 3-15 , AMG HU-1 Gen II, and a strike eagle 1-6. That being said I own a Leupold MK 5 and Sightmark Pinnacle's (Discontinued but amazing for the money). The 1-10 is awesome. Clarity is crisp all the way to 10 power. The eyebox becomes tight after 6-8x. 10 power requires excellent shooting fundamentals not practiced by most in order to maintain sight picture. Just my opinion. Spend some extra time mounting your scope. Get comfortable behind the rifle, real comfortable. Invest in whatever it maybe? bags, slings, sturdy bipod or tripod. Whatever you preferred shooting position is ect. Start there and with your rings loose enough to be moved on your rail but tight enough so it will not just fall off your rifle find the best place for your scope where you will naturally be in the eyebox on the higher magnification ranges. This is where you can squeeze the magnification offered by the 1-10 to your liking. Stack the odds in your favor, we bought the scope now it on us to invest in our ability to use the capability. I have mine on a BCM MK12 and it complement's the capability of the rifle when shooting 77gr SMK's out to 600yds on 6 power. Plenty comfortable and clear. I would absolutely recommend this scope for AR style rifles who want to ability to shoot and ID further than what they are comfortable with a 1-6 scope. If your application is served with a 1-6 just fine, stay with that. If your pressed to spot your misses and adjust fire the 1-10 Recticle will have you better served but at a significantly higher price.

Can't Beat the Optic or Customer Service

Bought the Razor 1-10 several years back and have zero complaints, it has been worked hard as it lives primarily on my competition AR. Crystal clear glass even out to 700yds+. Last week I called to order some replacement parts, I had lost one of the turret caps recently and I had started to wear out the battery compartment lid, Vortex shipped the replacements at no cost and included a free cap as well, nobody stands behind their products like Vortex. Buy once cry once!

This thing is awesome. My only complaint is paying this much and it not coming with actual lense covers. I have only put about 150 rounds down range with this scope but I have no worries this thing is going to last a lifetime and the glass and reticle are perfect. If your thinking about it, just do it.

One wish

I absolutely love my Razor. It took some training to get used to the eye box. Ended up just banding my furniture for cheek placement. However eye box issues aside which is a compromise people I think really need to understand about lpvo vs mpvo etc. This is an amazing peice of glass. I do believe Vortex in the next generation needs make it a x28. Give us a little more room to play with for the eyes.

Best LPVO on the Market

Have had this optic for about six months now and am very satisfied with it. I accidentally torqued the scope mount on it down to 20 FOOT lbs instead of 20 INCH lbs like the instructions said to do. Even with that insane amount of pressure on the tube of the optic it still functions perfectly fine and has now signs of damage. Optic overall is built very sturdy and tough. Image is very clear but does get a bit blurry when zoomed in at full magnification. Reticle is awesome. Haven't had any issues with it being not bright enough or not dim enough. Zero has always been held consistently for as long as I've used it. The only thing I don't like about the optic is that it's HEAVY. It will make any firearm that you put it on feel noticeably heavier. Probably because of how solid and well built it is. I got mine put on with the Scalarworks scope mount and it has performed flawlessly with that. The scope mount unfortunately did not survive my stupidity of torqueing the screws down to 20 ft/lbs but the company sent new one and that has worked great ever since. If you have the money to blow on this... I fully recommend! Look around for sales though. You can pretty consistently find them for around $1000 off. I got mine for $1600 off MSRP and I found that literally within the first day that I had first started looking at LPVOs.

Couldn't be happier

Finally finished a 14.5 PWS MK114 build and mounted this on a Badger Ordnance Condition One. It went on beautifully, adjusted my eye relief and within minutes was ringing steel.

Fantastic scope?Absolutely incredible service!!!

I was fortunate enough to score one of the U.S. assembled 1-10 gen IIIs, and let me tell you, it is Awesome! However, that?s not the full story. For some reason mine didn?t come with a sunshade. I spoke with Jimmy and Jim in customer care and they were able to get me one without batting an eye! Two really great guys and an amazing company. I can?t say enough good things!!!

Fantastic Optic

I have two these on rifles I use for different purposes and it serves a multipurpose role extremely well. Glass and reticle are great. The size and weight of the optic for what you're getting is also very nice.

Great All Around Scope

I got this scope when they first came out. Its been a great scope since I have had it. The scope exterior looks very nice. The glass is very clear. The turrets track very nicely. There's really nothing bad I can say at all about this scope. It really is the top of the LPVO scopes right now.

Would be better BLACK

Never thought I'd like the LPVO as much as I do. Yep, will never be able to go back to a fixed 4x. Would probably have another one if they were offered in black.

ALMOST Perfect!

Had this optic for about 10 months, and nearly everything the online reviews say is true...nearly everything. For one, there?s a fair amount of fish bowling at x1 setting, leading to a pretty warped view inside of about 50 yards. To all my friends and family that use this, it?s not a huge deal, but I have cross-eye dominance, astigmatism, and nearsightedness in my right eye (the eye I use for scopes, which already makes using optics fairly difficult, made worse with this ?fish eye? effect at close ranges. Secondly, while the reticle is great at higher magnification, it is pretty small and thin at x1. Again, with all my eye problems, I would?ve loved to see stadia lines that were stretched a bit further out and thicker. There is plenty of real estate within the glass and even the reticle itself to do this. Aside from these personal issues, the optic is phenomenal! Lightweight for what you get, brilliantly clear and vibrant glass, awesome reticle, and finally, an included throw lever! Vortex was SO CLOSE to a home run on this one! The three stars are based on the experience of my own poor eyesight, but the average consumer will not be disappointed.

No Regrets Glad I Spent the Extra $$$

I purchased this scope as soon as they came out last year and glad I did. I installed this scope on a POF Revolution. Love the design and brightness of the reticle also the clarity of the glass it?s second to none. I looked at a Nightforce NX8 and a Kahles 1x8 scope before purchasing and I don?t have one bit of buyers remorse. Cant go wrong with the First Focal Plane once zeroed aim at any magnification and pull the trigger. Vortex knocked this out the park can?t wait to see what they come up with next.

I can?t think of any better words than AMAZING!

I just received my optic from a Vortex dealer a friend recommended me and I was so happy I could get this optic, everything I watched or read made me want it more so after mounting it on my Scar 17 I knew she was the one for her, I have a vortex on every rifle I own and you can?t go wrong with the service or the quality of the products thanks a bunch Vortex!

The scope above all others

Was about to purchase a 1-8 optic from another highly regarded brand when I noticed that the store I was at had a gen 3 razor in stock. As soon as I looked through it I was completely blown away by the clarity. Most other scopes have a lot of distortion at low power which only goes away once you get to 2-3x, not the case with this one. I was a little worried that the reticle would be too cluttered at high magnification but this is not the case, at least not with the MOA model.

If you could have only one optic....this is it!

On the bottom end of magnification, you have a crisp and bright red dot with a large and exceedingly clear window. As magnification increases, the reticle ?grows? and becomes more and more usable for longer range shots. Eye relief is extremely forgiving. So far, I have run the MOA version of this scope on 3 rifles and will be testing on a 4th this weekend. Time to save up and get another, because this is my new favorite optic!

The eye relief and the exit pupil are out of this world! Every little detail that Vortex did on this scope makes it worth every penny.
