This is, hands down, the best hunting scope on the market today. Clear glass, durable, dependable, and an outstanding reticle make this one a keeper for life. Most hunters (like myself) hunt in different terrains. One morning it could be dense woods with a max shot being 75 yards where quick shots are required, the next morning over a harvested 40 acre corn field. This scope enables hunters to hunt all terrains successfully. From personal experience, one morning I hunted in the woods and shot a doe at 40 yards right at sun up. 3x power scope, great glass, and the open reticle made it easy to shoot the doe quickly before she could wind me and run off. That evening I hunted an open field where a shot at just over 170 yards presented it's self. I dialed the scope and anchored the deer. I've hunted out the 300 yards with this scope, and as close as 25. Not many scopes out there can do it. You can't put a price on feeling confident behind the rifle when hunting, and this scope enables hunters to be effective in a vast amount of situations and ranges. Happy hunting!

love the pop up locking turret. high quality glass and light weight for the backcountry. illumination is subtle and is great for the low light times of the day. free custom ballistic turret strip was a nice addition. wish it had a beefier throw lever to change magnification. hope to never use lifetime warranty but at least I know it's there. can't wait to use it in the wyoming back country on a rifle elk hunting trip.

customer support is top notch, warranty is true to its word. my scope couldn't be fixed, and has since been discontinued. Vortex replace it with the current model plus gave me rings for the larger diameter. To say I'm pleased with vortex is an understatement.

I certainly don't have a reason to dislike this scope, yet. It appears like it's gonna fit the bill in all departments for the rifle I am building. Of course it would be nice to have an ideal maximum magnification for a second focal plane reticle, but there's not much dial up between 10 & 15. I think this would be a challenge for any optics manufacturer in terms of keeping most people happy. Isn't that what repeatable turrets are for tho? Those will be put to the test, in time. I like that it has an option for the smaller objective lens size of 42mm and a 30mm tube which will put the height right where I want it for my set up. I believe this scope should keep me happy. I've never had an illuminated reticle before and so far I'm seeing good things from that as well. It would be nice to have a little more friction for purchase on the magnification dial. Like my viper 2.5-10x44 does. If that scope had this reticle, I probably would've just purchased that version. I absolutely adore that rifle scope. Apart from that, I have every confidence at this scope is going to perform. If I find out otherwise, I will be sure to chime back in with an unbiased two cents.

I purchased this scope for a lightweight rifle build and it did not disappoint. Upon receiving the scope I found it to be very well packaged. The scope is lightweight and very well made. I quickly mounted it on the rifle then headed out to zero it. The glass is the clearest I've looked through and the reticle is extremely crisp to include the illumination feature. The reticle adjustment knobs were very tactile and accurate which made the zeroing process very easy. So far I have been very impressed with this scope and highly recommend it. I wish Vortex would offer this reticle in more of its scope models as it's a great hunting reticle which is why I chose it. If this scope is an option then it should be the answer.

I purchased this scope for a hunting rifle build because I wanted a very clear scope with a very clean illuminated reticle. This scope hasn't disappointed at all. It's the clearest glass I've ever seen in a scope and the reticle is very clean and crisp. I will be purchasing another for a different rifle. I wish you would offer this reticle in your other models as it seems a lot of your illuminated reticles are very busy for the average hunter.

I have had several Swarovski scopes that cost 2500+ but after the great experience I had with the Viper scope I have I saw the new Razor LHT with the G4i reticle which I love so I ordered one and was absolutely blown away with the optical quality and edge to edge clarity absolutely no distortion whatsoever. I don't know how Vortex makes scopes like this that are as good if not better than my Swaros that cost almost 3 times the amount. Keep the great products coming Vortex!

Out of many reputable scopes I have had, this is the best.. Here in Alaska, I look for: dependable, lightweight, clear, uncluttered scopes that go well with magnum calibers. This is it.

After reading some reviews, I wanted to weigh in here. The good things said in other reviews are accurate. The reviewer who complained about the parallax and magnification knob tightness has a point, but I don't find these knobs that bad. I like the illumination button: March uses this feature too, and I would rather have this style knob than the overly-tight one that some other scopes have. Vortex could make the parallax knob a wee bit taller because I reflexively end up gripping it and the illumination housing cap together. Also, my scope's turrets are a tad mushy. I give five stars for the bang for the buck and weight.

Just sighted in the 3-15x x 50mm razor HD LHT mrad. It's attached to my Savage 110 High country in .270. 200yds group at 1/2in. Hit 300,400, and 500 yard plate first shot with turret movement and it's accurate. I used four different ammo brands but sig elite hunter in nickel plate 140gr .270 was the winner. The included sunshade proved useful on the range as well. Glass was extremely clear as the price point should be. Medium height Vortex RMR rings paired with this set proved high quality as well.

I bought a DIAMONDBACK HP 4-16X42 with a 1" tube back when times were tough $, It's nice for the price, but now I'm able to pay more for higher quality glass. I want to stay in the same magnification range but with a Razors level of glass. Why not a Razor 3x16x50 w/ MOA Reticle ? 30-34mm ?

I bought this scope a month ago for a lightweight build. Unfortunately its sent back into Vortex for a service/repair due to the illumination bleeding all over the reticle. I see others had this issue as well, and after calling vortex, they said it was normal and the tech even went as far as to question why I would need the illumination at all... I emailed the attached pictures to Vortex and they said it wasn't normal and to send it in which I did. Been waiting to hear back but I honestly don't want the scope anymore I wish I could just get my money back. Eye box is super tight, 15x is essentially unusable which is frustrating for a SFP reticle since you can't use the sub tensions on any other zoom. It is marketed as a abck country hunting optic but the eye relief is critical which makes no sense since rarely do we get a nice perfectly level shot in the field. Its lightweight which is rare these days, but too many corners were cut. I'm glad I still have my PST gen1. Its getting me by while this is sorted out. Really disappointed and bummed. $1,200 is a lot of money for me to spend on an optic. Got a HUGE I told you so from the wife.

I just purchased this scope and very disappointed with the illumination. The centre dot lights up well but so do other random parts of the reticle. Part of the '2' lights up red as well as other parts of the reticle that should not light up. This would be disappointing at any price point but especially disappointing at over $1,500. I will be attempting to return this scope on the weekend rather than going shooting.

Great scope for the money, right in the middle weight wise for the application. Reticle is fantastic, SFP is great for a hunting application (larger reticle), being that it's MIL, the user can use the reticle at full mag and or dial. Would've been better if it was a bit shorter... I know they came out with a FFP version but the magnification range is to high for my uses. Big difference in FOV at the lower mag range between the two. Only real complaint is the parallax knob is terribly hard to turn.

But, it would be nice to have a capping option for the top turret and the parallax/magnification adjustment knobs are ridiculously hard to turn. I'm failing to understand why a $1000+ scope has no options to assist with these issues, yet some of the much cheaper scopes actually come with a throw lever built in. And yes I am aware that there is a company out there that offers a throw lever but, it is about two to three times the size of the levers that vortex sells. Vortex PLEASE make a aluminum throw lever for this scope! It should be included.

After listening the boys on the Vortex podcast talk about this scope so favourably, I had to try one out as the ?last hunting a cope I will have to buy? riflescope. In short, it is living up to expectations. It is as close to perfect as I have ever tried. Much prefer the capped windage and exposed locking turrets to any other system that I own. The most undersold feature is the generous mounting length, as a lot of modern scopes don?t do well with traditional 2-pc mounts on long action rifles.

Just installed the Razor HD LHT 3-15x50 on my 6.5x55 looks great and is very clear. I have been a Tasco world class plus guy on many of my rifles. This is a great scope and dialed in great on the 1st shoot. Stopped by the factory and checked out all the scopes and this one is what I liked. Clean looking recital with the simple hold overs.

I have two of these and they are tremendous scopes. Sharpness is incredible. I have an astigmatism and this is the only scope where I don't see at least slightly double horizontal reticle lines......my favorite Vortex hunting scope.

This is the 6th installment in my vortex scope collection (or 9th if I include the 2 red dots and a holographic and it is everything I?ve come to expect from them. I?ve been sold on vortex ever since I bought my first Crossfire and at this point I?ve pretty much got the whole vortex product line, from the crossfire all the way up to a Razor HD Gen II, and this is by far my favorite of them all. It is every bit as clear as the Razor HD Gen II despite being a pound or 2 lighter and a couple inches shorter. I got this scope because I am building a lightweight suppressed whitetail rifle and wanted a scope with premium optics in a compact and lightweight package and this is exactly that. It?s almost like they designed this scope specifically for my rifle. I was actually a little skeptical when I ordered it because I couldn?t imagine that they could build a scope that was this light and compact without sacrificing some optical quality or durability but sure enough the folks at vortex figured out how to do it. The optical quality is exceptional, the clarity is amazing, particularly in low light. It?s clear enough that you?ll be able to shoot right up until the end of legal shooting light even in the densest early season woods on an overcast evening with no moon. In fact, on lowest zoom you can actually see better through the scope than you can with the naked eye. It has also held up to heavy recoil extremely well thus far. 6.5CM is typically a soft shooting cartridge but when you?re shooting it out of a rifle that weighs 6-1/2 pounds including scope it is anything but soft. This rifle has more recoil than my browning x-bolt in 300 win mag. I?ve got around 500 rounds through it so far and my zero hasn?t shifted the slightest bit and if it?s held up to that it should have no problem once I?ve got the additional 12oz and recoil reduction that comes along with a suppressor. There really isn?t much more that I could ask for in a scope. If you?re on the fence about this scope just go ahead and buy it, you will be glad you did.

After a lengthy review of the many offerings from various manufacturers, both online and at various retail establishments, in the performance envelope I had in mind from short to long range hunting applications, I decided to go with Vortex. While there are no flies on the other US and European premium brands regarding quality and warranties, the deciding factor comes down to value, and in my opinion Vortex pretty much nailed it with this scope. This is a feature rich optic, that for the price, is hard to beat when you?re looking for a light weight, user friendly scope with the perfect magnification range that will satisfy most any hunting application. Optical quality is outstanding, and the illuminated reticle is uncluttered and easy to use. This is my first purchase of a Vortex optic, and it will not be my last.

I have a handful of the original Razor LH with the G4 BDC. Hands down my favorite scopes and reticle. The speed and beauty of a #4 with a precise center dot and elevation hash marks. Glass quality easily bests my Swaro Z3?s. Would love this version for my PRC hunting rifle, but why no MOA option? Consistency would have a couple of these in my cart and the fifth star.
