Bought this as an addition to my 12x50 vipers , which rock the house love them. But this spotting scope is Dim and just not clear or lit up as my viper binos. Very dissatisfied with the fact this is their high end and doesn?t out perform the lower end binos, Or, mind you, or is it me. But I just thought these would make live easier, I went with straight and it?s dim and not so clear not enough light comes through. I went with the straight eye piece but wonder if the angled would be different. Anyways, this is good I guess if this is their standard for spotting g scopes but I just bought it hoping to really light up the mountain side. Now I do t even take it on hunts.lol might have just carry bigger binos.

Not what I expected

Ken, my best hunting friend, recommended Vortex over other more expensive brands. I found the Razor HD 65mm spotting scope a good choice. Then I got it home. I live in the mountains at 6000 feet. From my balcony I see a fire lookout station 4 miles distant and a little to the left of that, San Jacinto Peak at 6 miles distance, as the crow flies. This glass brings those peaks in for a high def close up view. When the ranger's in the station, I see him moving around his lookout. The image is clear and crisp. Best optics buy of my life...so far.
