Haven't touched this optic since I threw it on an AR 3 years ago, shoot it more than any other gun, and zero hasn't budged

What I like: The glass is very clear, Light weight, compact, reticle is sharp. Vortex warranty. What I don't like: eye relief is way too close. It's mounted as far back as possible and the only practical position is not practical. I'm forced into the bladed stance with my neck stretched forward to get the clear view, which is only marginally useful at a bench position and still one must lean forward to see. The 5. 56 BDC means I need to calculate the subtensions for ballistic drop (I mounted it on a PCC 9mm) which is fine but I think if Vortex fixes the eye relief- they should have a MOA reticle as well- it would make it more useful for alternate applications beyond 5. 56/. 308. Mine won't get used- which means I won't get to test the warranty either. The MOA adjustment doesn't have consistent or tactile clicks, which makes over adjusting too easy- and it doesn't have sub- 1 MOA adjustments which makes it nearly impossible to get a tight zero at 100 yards. While I got a relatively good price on a Prism- it's a lot of money for an optic that is coming off the rifle and back into the box in favor of iron sights.

This optic is great! Use it on my . 350 Legend AR for deer and home defense. I do wish the reticle set up were a bit larger, but regardless, it's great!

It's a decent optic but the redical is small and the eye box is small. And I find other optics better but I'll put it on a short barrel sooner or later. The glass is great and the quality of the material is nice. Easy to use and it's a nice height to just ok through and don't have to hunker down all the way to the stock. Do recommend for someone looking for something with a little more magnification then a red dot

Well built, very clear optics, 3x magnification, low weight. Eye relief at 2. 8 inches can be short for some rifles but usually works well for carbine setups.

I found target acquisition difficult with this sight on my AR. It could be related to the short relief and my glasses. I also have a Vortex StrikeFire II, and I love it.

When you compare this optic to others similar in price, they are much worse quality; and when you compare it to similar quality optics, they are much more expensive. overall, excellent clarity, ready to zero, functional reticle, and the option to mount a red dot on top is awesome. I put mine on a Ruger LC carbine for rabbits and prairie dogs, so far it's only shot paper and steel but it's very easy to hit a 4" steel plate at 100 yards, so I imagine it'll do fine.

I bought my first one used because of the lifetime Vortex warranty. It is a light, handy and compact AR optic with good illuminated ranging reticle. The eye relief could be better but that is my only complaint.

Great magnification, light weight. Serious issue with lens covers constantly getting in the way of target acquisition. Prefer flip covers that don't impede field of view. No aftermarket covers available.

The lenses were clear and crisp. Great sight picture for my fun gun. Only complaint is the eye relief is on the poor side. Easy to sight in and reticle is clean.

Personally I think this optic is amazing. I was dead set on getting an ACOG with the RMR top mounted. Thats a $2500 optic. After doing some research I decided to mount this on a low height rear extending mount that sits it right over the charging handle. Perfect eye relief. I mounted a defender XL on the vortex 45 degree mount which makes both optics the same height over bore, right in front of the spitfire and this set up is perfect. Durable, high quality optics. The glass is super clear, reticle is great, nothing left to be desired. This set up was a fraction of the cost of the ACOG and it achieves the same capabilities WITH the vortex warranty. Can't be beat.

Contacted Vortex to replace the mounting screws for my Venom Red Dot mounted atop the Spitfire Gen II. Their customer service is next to none. Phenomenal customer service experience with this company. Also, the optic is great too for a smaller footprint with 5x magnification.

I inquired about battery life of this product because it's not in the specifications. This is directly from their customer service (who was very professional, helpful, and replied quickly): "On the lowest setting it is 210 hours, on the medium setting it is 144 hours, and on the brightest setting it is 12 hours." I should add that the two lowest (of 12) settings are night vision compatible. They are too dark for me to see without NV. Considering the battery saver doesn't activate until 14 hours after the last button is pressed, the battery can die on the highest setting before the battery saver activates. When I asked for further confirmation of these numbers I was assured of their accuracy: "Those numbers are directly from our engineers who then forwarded the battery life numbers to us." Which seems odd when other Vortex optics have a 50,000 hour (5.7 YEAR!!) battery life. But it explains why its omitted from the specification sheet. I'm glad I learned this prior to purchasing.

I bought this for use on my 12 gauge slug gun. It works great in dense woods. Easy eye relief and target accusition. The BDC reticle is too small to be useful, but since I don't have it on an AR I only look at the main part of the reticle anyhow. Great price for what you get.

This thing is awsome eye relief could be better but it really isn't bad. A qd cantilever mount would be spectacular for this

Although I've installed the optic, I haven't actually put rounds on paper with it yet. I own several Vortex optics and I've been very impressed with their quality and performance, especially at this price point. I've also taken advantage of their lifetime warranty on one occassion and I assure you it's legitimate. This optic is replacing a Mepro M-21 I'd installed on an IWI Tavor X95. The Mepro has some very cool features, but unfortunately my astigmatism/aging eyes were struggling with the projected reticle. I saw two triangles where everyone else saw one. That's not the case with the SpitFire. The etched reticle is sharp/clear despite my goofy eyes, the glass is clear, and the magnification is perfect for me. Some other reviews criticized the eye relief - yes, it's short, but it only took me a couple of minutes to find the sweet spot and get the crossbolts tightened down. I mounted mine at the extreme rear of the rail which blocks the BUIS. But the beauty of the etched prism optic is that the reticle remains even if the battery craps out. Overall, the optic seems well constructed/rugged and improved over the previous Spitfire models (I have a couple of those too). My first impressions are very, very positive - I'll update once I've put some lead downrange.

Unfortunately, for the cost just get a LPVO. It's Way more efficient. Wished the glass was clearer.

It's really excellent lens. Amazing elevation adjustment 200moa ,even could used on crossbow. But the mount base is so bad ,too far away from cheek to use, I shoot my crossbow an hour and I seems like twisted my neck ,Vortex should help me pay the medical bill. Haha. I used another mount , now my neck is better.

Good for it's price and compact maybe not the top of the line but still worth getting.

Bad design. It's a good telescope, with a problematic design. Placing the lens caps on the battery compartment on the right side can cause pod ejection stops in the weapon. It is forced to turn between the sides of the buttons for controlling the lighting intensity and the battery compartment, in the next generation of the device. Bad design. Apart from this major issue, the device does the job well.
