Vortex Optics Defender Flip Cap Eyepiece
The Vortex Defender Flip Cap Eyepiece does exactly what it's supposed to do. It fits well, stays in place, and provides solid protection for my lenses in the field and at the range. The flip-up design is convenient and doesn't get in the way when shooting. Overall, it's a quality product from Vortex. It protected my lenses, and I really can't complain. Simple, effective, and reliable.

Must haves to pair with your Vortex scoped hunting rifles! Haven't tried them on other branded scopes, but they do have a great fit on my Vortex's, no surprise there! Flips out of the way when you need it to!

Easy Install
Just slips right on. I really like the sticker to put on the inside of the ocular scope end to keep track of the bullet drop hash mark. I always forget, but now it is there when you flip up the lid.

Could use revise.
Scope caps are alright but same as some other reviews I have had the Hardeware fall out from recoil I was lucky enough to be over concrete and retrieve the spring, bolt and nut and locktite them back and it's happened again ,I'm searching for something that would not do that. .

Just what I was looking for
After trying several different covers, with no success, decided to order these. Covers are for a Vortex scope so figured they would fit. They fit perfectly! Covers are well made, open and close with no. problems.
The material seems like it will last for a long time. Its a quality product from a company that Ive never had any problems with.

They are nice and tight to apply. I don't think they are coming loose but I'm zip tying just for overkill. I like the addition of a dope card in the ocular cover. Because they are flexible material they will fit over the sunshade too.

This came with my strike eagle 1-8 ffp. As other reviewers stated, it simply does not stay on. It flips off when you try to flip it open, and it comes off when operating a milspec charging handle. I bought a charging handle with a large lever to solve the one problem, but the loose fit makes this only useful for storage. 2 handed operation is simply not acceptable. This is guaranteed to fall off during any kind of shooting sports. Unfortunately, the 1-8 ffp has such a large eye piece, its outside the size chart for butler creek. I will likely end up taping this on, to protect my glass during competition. As large as the eyepiece is, on my scope, I can't imagine this would stay on any of the vortex scopes.

Worst flip up scope covers ive ever used.
Love the scopes, hate the flip up scope covers. I have two strike eagle scopes, both came with flip up scope covers and you have to use two hands to open them one to hold the scope cover on the scope and the other to open the cap. That is if they haven't just fallen off while you were walking through a field. Worst designed scope caps I have ever used.

The eye cap fits snug over the scope, and the vertical position is cool for referencing any data you put on the inside sticker. I used it on a FFP scope, but I imagine you may have some issues rotating the rear focus if that's all that's on your optic.
