The Vortex Optics Viper HD 10x50 R/T Tactical Binocular has high-grade optics for true color observations in extreme environmental and weather conditions. The High Density (HD) Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) optical glass reduces chromatic aberrations when compared to standard optical glass. This provides true color transmission across the entire field of view without distortion, as well as improved sharpness, detail and color fidelity. With the resulting view it is easier to identify objects at low light levels and long distances.

In addition, the lenses feature Vortex's proprietary XR anti-reflection coatings and the roof prisms feature dielectric multi-layer coatings. These coatings help make images brighter than regular anti-reflection coatings. The roof prism also features a phase correction coating which reduces polarization and preserves maximum detail and contrast.

Beyond these optical features, this binocular is built to withstand harsh conditions and is easy to use. It is argon-filled which provides greater fogproof protection than similar nitrogen-filled binoculars. The O-ring seals protect the binocular from moisture, dust and debris. It has adjustable eyecaps, a center focus wheel, a diopter and could be mounted on a tripod. The R/T reticle with four silhouettes allows estimating ranges. Also, included with the binocular are a padded carry case, neck strap, two tethered objective lens covers and a rainguard.
