I have this Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4. 5 x 27 with the Horus Tremor 3 reticle mounted on my issued sniper rifle chambered in . 308. The glass clarity is good, the edge to edge sharpness and eye box are excellent, and the glass maintains clarity at maximum magnification. The optic is robust, very heavy, reliable with chunky and tactile turrets, and overall user friendly. The tremor 3 reticle is exceptional and overall the best reticle I have used in my 13 + years of shooting precision rifles/competing/duty use. CONS: -Heaviest scope I have ever trained with/used. Compared to ZCO, Leupold, Nightforce, Kahles, Tangent Theta, Schmidt and Bender, Burris, and Zeiss in their comparable models.

This scope is a Beast! Love the clearity of the glass, the build quality is outstanding! The locking turrets have a precise feel and audible click. The magnification ring and side focus ring are super smooth adjustment. I liked it so much, I bought another.

Positive overall experience while used hunting, but not versatile enough for a tactical setting. Some parallax, not amazing eye relief, functional reticle, and somewhat cumbersome. The amazing warranty and price are what make this optic attractive for everyday use by any looking for an optic in this range. Take into account that I am generally a harsh reviewer and am partial to NF optics.

Had this scope for 2 years now and still my favorite scope, hunting or competition wise. It has some weight to it, but it will hold up. Glass is amazing and tends to cut through the haze at longer ranges in the early mornings. Not going to be everyone's first scope at the price point, but hard to move away from it once you had shot it.

This scope is a fantastic optic. Filling the need of a mid range power tough as dirt optic for your workhorse rifles Optics are fantastic. Adjustments are perfect and repeatable. Does not change zero even with rough handling. Just the best optic made in its class

Glass 5/5 Optical clarity is top tier, chromatic aberration? Never heard of her. Edge to edge sharpness of image is top notch, and color is true. The large lens gathers plenty of light when its a little dim outside such as dawn or dusk. Turrets 5/5 The clicks are VERY tactile, like breaking glass rods. This optic also passes the grid test for turret tracking with flying colors. Its also got a fantastic zero stop system that is easy to understand and use. Because it is disconnected from the clicks of the turret, it can be dialed tighter than the individual . 1mrad clicks of the turret. It also has a pin that pops out on the left side (to the shooter) that lets you know if youve gone past a full rotation or not, so you can tell at a glance if youre dialed 1mrad or 11. Build quality 5/5 Shes THIC and durrable. The finish is flawless, the rings for adjustment all turn super smooth, and everything functions as it should. Packaging 5/5 It comes packaged handsomly in a high quality foam lined box, with plenty of extras and literature. Even some cool art as you open the box, if this doesnt matter to you, I understand, I just appreciate it on a high end piece of kit. Ive had this for a while now, only on my Hk Mr762 and I use it for long range shoots. Hits out to 1k (where my 308 hits its max) are easy to track with the insane clarity and large field of view. Its a bit chonky weight wise, and I could maybe drop half a star for that, but one doesnt buy a razor expecting the lightest weight glass. You buy one expecting rugged, duty grade, and amazing glass. In those regards, she delivers.

This scope is the clearest optic I have ever looked through. The adjustment clicks are very tactile and accurate, and I love the turret lock out.

EBR7C reticle is not great. I wish scope makers would get away from the ridiculously small dots and go back to a floating crosshair reticle. At least give us an option of a crosshair (EBR2D would be nice). Scope is otherwise very nice. Turrets are outstanding. Image quality is fine. Overall, it's an excellent scope with a crummy reticle.

The Razor is a great optic with super clear glass, great tactile turrets with positive clicks for adjustment. It has a great zoom range and the ability to adjust its parallax setting down low enough for close engagements. The Razor Gen 2 is an excellent scope for anyone looking to build a competition oriented rifle or a premium hunting large caliber rifle. The one tradeoff to the Razor is that it is slightly heavier than some other offerings of similar quality levels. Other than this, the Razor is a top notch choice for a wide variety of applications for those looking for the absolute best in glass quality. Highly recommend!

I've been to the range a few times now with this optic. It is very easy to use, was able to easily get a good zero. The glass is great, easy to focus. I've only been shooting out to 500 yards but the targets are crystal clear and have been hitting them with no problem.

Exceptionally clear optic with more magnification than you probably need. However, it is always nice to be able to crank it up some more and take a better look at what you are pointing at!

This is the first high end scope that I have purchased. I have it sitting on my NRL22 rifle. It is overkill for this use case, but I am working to get better at my fundamentals on a 22 before moving to more expensive rounds. This glass is phenomenal and the adjustments are great. It is expensive, but I definitely would lean toward the buy once, cry once mentality. At first all of the features on it may seem daunting, but there are great tutorials on YouTube and within the manuals. This is a scope I can grow into as I switch disciplines and enjoy it more and more.

Got this scope mounted on my 6.5 creedmoor. Exceptional clarity at shorter and long distance. I like how smooth the dials are, making minor adjustments extremely easy. The only knock if I had one is I wish the color was more of a FDE than bronze, but I didn't buy it for looks. Any level shooter should enjoy this scope.

Grand of the scope is a little pricey, but compared to other products you cannot go wrong.

2023-08-14T20:00:00
The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is weight. Glass is very clear, even when water gets on it. No loss or shifting of zero in the about 1100 rounds I've put on it since I bought it. It has been dropped, battered around, and handled without care. Weight is a detractor because I run it on an already heavy gas gun at 13lbs unloaded.

Not gonna wast to much time on this review. Anyone who knows anything about optics knows this is about as top tier as you can get. I think for the discount and if you can drop the money, this is a killer value and scope. It's by far the best glass I have and no real knocks. It's built and heavy as a tank ha. Have shot multiple sub moa groups with a 6.5prc rifle and this scope. The scope is the real deal but isn't easy to drop this type of cash unless you're gonna be shooting LR appreciate it.

I just used this scope in two major Extreme Long Range Competitions (750ish to around 2300 yds). It's heavy, but on an 18# rifle, it doesn't matter much. Engaged dozens of targets over the two days, and never had a problem with tracking or clarity from rain to bright sunshine. Great scope!
