I recently purchased this Tripod for my 2025 Utah hunts (elk and deer). I let my wife and kids use this primarily though i did use it myself several times. It was quick to set up and take down. Did not add to much weight overall and is very compact. It's a bit wiggly when extended to it's full length and a little short for me (i'm 6'2") when trying to stand and glass. Sitting it was great. I'd recommend replacing the head with a ball as you don't have quite the range of motion i prefer. It won't allow you to move at angles just up down, left right. A ball head would make this product awesome. Overall i definitely recommend this tripod.

I've been using the Mountain Pass tripod for glassing for game while hunting. It also pair it with my Canon camera when shooting photos. It's easy to adjust to any height needed and packs really well when on the move.

This was my first tripod, it is great to use with a spotting scope, however, would not recommend shooting off of it. Even though the weight capacity is 22lb the head is still fairly shaky for precision shooting. I will upgrade in the future. Recommend this tripod for an inexpensive beginner option for glassing scopes and binos.

The mountain pass has been great for the backcountry hunts I've taken it on, it's a bit heavier than some carbon models, but it's really sturdy & a lot less expensive.

It's a great tripod if you're just going out for the day. If you're backpacking, I think it's a little heavy. Study construction and you can't beat Vortex customer service.

I bought this paired with a set of binos for my wife. Fantastic entry level setup and definitely high quality. Not the lightest setup, but definitely one of the most durable.

The handle to move the tripod around is to short for me. The older versions were longer that I enjoyed better then the new version. Wish they had an option for longer handles. Still a great product.

This is an extremely light weight tripod that packs down to a very small size. Easy to fit in my Kuiu pack side pockets and was worth the pack in. Only complaint is one that I knew before purchasing it is the height that it extends to is short at standing height for me at 6'1". It is fine for my angled spotter but a little short for standing binos. But honestly most of my long glassing is sitting and this is fantastic for that. I haven't used it to shoot off of this has only been for glassing purposes. But for the price and the weight I have no complaints having used it to sight in rifles, speed goat hunting and elk hunting so far.

I bought this tripod to go with a crossfire spotting scope that Vortex sent me to test and review and it is awesome! One of the days on my hunt was really windy and it stayed solid. I will able to glass easily and adjust quickly if needed. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable tripod at a good price.

It's a great option if you're looking for a tripod for a spotter or binos. Has it flows. Moves when you fully lock the mount. But it's fast for getting on and off.

This tripod has been used indoors or on level surfaces and has worked great! Pairing it with a good Vortex spotting scope is critical. The tripod has ample adjustment however not enough fixable adjustments. There aren't any ways that I'm aware of to lock the tripod from swiveling. Other than that it has been easy to use and reliable. I would buy one again!

This tripod has excellent stability for my compact spotter(Razor 11-33x). I use it for digiscoping and for shooting from. It's not as tall as other tripods, but for me at 6' tall, I can use this to shoot from the standing position. This is great for a first tripod or an experienced user in a budget. Much more solid platform than my shooting sticks.

Bought this to use with rifles on hunting trips or at the range as the max weight is 22lbs. So far so good but will more than likely upgrade the head swivel for a more robust mounting solution.
