It's a great tripod if you're just going out for the day. If you're backpacking, I think it's a little heavy. Study construction and you can't beat Vortex customer service.

I bought this paired with a set of binos for my wife. Fantastic entry level setup and definitely high quality. Not the lightest setup, but definitely one of the most durable.

The handle to move the tripod around is to short for me. The older versions were longer that I enjoyed better then the new version. Wish they had an option for longer handles. Still a great product.

This is an extremely light weight tripod that packs down to a very small size. Easy to fit in my Kuiu pack side pockets and was worth the pack in. Only complaint is one that I knew before purchasing it is the height that it extends to is short at standing height for me at 6'1". It is fine for my angled spotter but a little short for standing binos. But honestly most of my long glassing is sitting and this is fantastic for that. I haven't used it to shoot off of this has only been for glassing purposes. But for the price and the weight I have no complaints having used it to sight in rifles, speed goat hunting and elk hunting so far.

I bought this tripod to go with a crossfire spotting scope that Vortex sent me to test and review and it is awesome! One of the days on my hunt was really windy and it stayed solid. I will able to glass easily and adjust quickly if needed. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable tripod at a good price.

It's a great option if you're looking for a tripod for a spotter or binos. Has it flows. Moves when you fully lock the mount. But it's fast for getting on and off.

Decent entry level tripod. The head is loose and difficult to tighten. Otherwise not bad. Light weight and has held up nicely.

This tripod has been used indoors or on level surfaces and has worked great! Pairing it with a good Vortex spotting scope is critical. The tripod has ample adjustment however not enough fixable adjustments. There aren't any ways that I'm aware of to lock the tripod from swiveling. Other than that it has been easy to use and reliable. I would buy one again!

This tripod has excellent stability for my compact spotter(Razor 11-33x). I use it for digiscoping and for shooting from. It's not as tall as other tripods, but for me at 6' tall, I can use this to shoot from the standing position. This is great for a first tripod or an experienced user in a budget. Much more solid platform than my shooting sticks.

Bought this to use with rifles on hunting trips or at the range as the max weight is 22lbs. So far so good but will more than likely upgrade the head swivel for a more robust mounting solution.

Good if it fits the budget. Not heavy, but definitely not light. I'd recommend the carbon lightweight if the primary use will be backpack hunts and budget allows. I backpack this one, it would be my first upgrade for weight savings if I needed to focus there. Ultimately I prioritized cost over weight, as the weight isn't a big concern for me.

Haven't had mine out in the field yet, but it holds my Vortex 20-60x85 spotting scope very steady. I set my tripod/spotting scope up on my back deck and was able to clearly make out tick formations and treelines on a mountain peak that is almost 11 miles away. There was no way that was going to happen with my old camera tripod. I am looking forward to using this tripod to glass for elk in the near future.

Rugged. Easy and quick set up. Very adjustable. Generally light"ish". I was a little bit disappointed though. 2 reasons. 1st-I'm 5"10. It is not tall enough for me to stand straight up and glass. Not a huge deal and bad on me for not paying attention to the height when I bought it. 2nd- bigger issue. The friction is not adjustable and the friction on my particular tripod is too high. My left right scan is fine but my up/down movement is jumpy. Not smooth. Makes it not smooth following wildlife. I almost lost a deer on a hunt because I tried to adjust my glass down and it jumped way too far and I almost couldn't find him again. I'll probably buy a better model next season and keep this one as my lender tripod.
