The glass on this scope is pretty incredible. Very generous eye-box and eye relief. Its the perfect Western Washington scope. I put them on both of my rifles.

I've been hunting with this scope for probably about 10 years and I'm just finally getting around to writing a review. In someways this might be the best hunting scope out there for reasonable hunting ranges. It's very clear the retical sharp. It's just simple, rocksolid and reliable when my wife started hunting. It was also the scope they gave her confidence to get her first elk. Could not be happy with this scope And of course, vortex warranty and customer services incredible so if anything ever happens to it, I know there will be absolutely no Problems Getting support:) The scope has been mounted on my Remington 308 with vortex pro rings and has gotten many elk

I love this scope! The 2.5x magnification is very usable for my middle aged eyes at close distances out to 200 yards easily. It has a large objective with an excellent reticle. Using a switchview quickly and easily brings intermediate range targets into focus even just staying at 5x magnification. I use this due to it being lighter weight than most LVPO's with greater usable magnification. This scope is the same weight as most fixed prism scopes (3x - 5x) that also use a red dot combo. This is doable with this lightweight scope but I find the 2.5x large objective just right as a do it all with the options for more magnification as needed. The warranty makes this scope a no brainer. It is a definite solid purchase.

Just took it out to 400 yards today. This was my first experience with dialing for range and it was super easy. The glass was very clear from 2.5x all the way to 10x. All the dials were positive with the clicks. The zero reset worked just like it should. 10/10 recommend. It is hard to believe there is a higher "tier" of glass given how good this scope is. I could easily see fine detail at 400 and the color and lighting were very good even in shaded areas. Will definitely buy again.

I was attempting to use a Primary Arms 1-8x24 for deer hunting. Anyone that hunts in the southeast like I do, has had deer walk out at the base of your stand or many yards out into the field. The PA optic worked well close up but its performance began to fall off when utilizing the higher power. Enter the Viper HS, 2.5-10x44! I even called Vortex and the Tech tried to help me with the PA optic. I was disappointed and the Tech asked me to check out the Viper HS 2.5-10x44. I did. Bought one. And it was the best decision I made. The variable optic adjustment is smooth. The glass is clear. And the reticle is simple. It is also in a price point that will not make you go into debt. I use mine for Georgia whitetail. From 5 to 320 yards so far. This Vortex Optic just works!

I got a Viper HS for some muzzleloaders I'll be hunting with this fall. It's been a breeze to set up, and I'm excited to get the first shots through it.

I have 2 of this, great optics, with nice shade, tight zoom ring. 2 issues I have: 1. As spec stated, vertical 86 MOA, but I got only 15-25 MOA left with 9 MOA base. 86MOA should be +/-43 MOA about, not +/- 20/66? Need 20 MOA base to get some MOA back 2. The luminous reticle lights the whole grid, I prefer center area only. Great scope at reasonable price.

Bought this scope on sale for almost half price. Bought scope before gun so haven't got it mounted on anything yet. Just from looking it over it appears very nice. Both turrets have loud firm clicks. Eye piece and magnification ring are firm and smooth. Scope is extremely clear all the way to outer edges on all magnifications. Will update review once installed on rifle and used for a bit, time will tell.

This scope did not disappoint and ensured I closed out the season with confidence. I purchased the HS 2.5-10x44 for my Daniel Defense, DD5 V4, 6.5 CM halfway through the 2022 deer season and was able to land myself a decent buck with it. I zeroed the scope at 100 yards and was able to easily reach targets out to 400 yards with the prescribed BDC hashmarks. This is a very simple but accurate scope that meets medium range requirements. Recommend adding illumination to the reticle for early morning/late evening low light shots 90 percent of the time deer present themselves. Highly recommend this scope.

I purchased this scope in 2011 and it is still holding strong today. It has helped me find success on numerous hunts and has never failed me. High quality product from a top notch company. Only downside to the model I own is the dial to adjust magnification is hard to turn and the rubber coating around the dial wants to lift when you turn it. I purchased the switchview turn lever and it alleviated this issue plus gives me an easy visual so I always know what magnification the scope is set to by looking at position of arm on the grow lever.

put one of theese on my 338 win mag years ago, its been bumped dropped snowed on rained on bounced around the back of the truck and still kept its zerro with no fogging or problems and has perfect eye relief to prevent scope from hitting you in the face with the recoil from the 250 grain rounds, defenatly recommend

I finally decided it was time to get some good optics this year. I sure am glad I went with the Viper. Clarity and eye relief are amazing. I would recommend this scope or any of your optics to anyone.

I have an older 2.5 x 10 Viper HS. The rubber near the objective lens with which the magnification settings are turned, is loose and did not last long. (The rubber is glued to the tube) It is difficult to turn the magnification up or down and the rubber forms a bubble. The turning to another magnification is not smooth and requires an effort. It however seems as if the newer models do not have this problem as they do not have the same rubber.

I purchased this scope early last fall for my new Remington Model Seven CDL in .308 WIN. Took it to the range, only a 100 yd range, and was very happy with this scope. Played with the adjustments, up, down, back to "0", very happy. Adjustments were crisp and predictable. The excuse I used to buy the new rifle was, my wife claimed my favorite deer rifle, carries a Vortex scope in 2-8X32 in a big bore 94 .307 WIN. Now she likes my new rifle! Hmmm, what can I do with this now.......

Very nice scope, Great warranty and Vortex is fun to say, Vortex, Vortex. Lol I wanted a #1 lightweight, #2 1-10X44, #3 mil dot reticle, #4 Illuminated, #5 capped turrets to mount on my POF Revolution 308. This Viper HS 2.5 - 10X×44 is as close as I found to meeting that wish list, 2.75 out of 5. The dead hold reticle is the .75, close enough for government work, it will be fine so make it 3 out of 5. Illuminated and 1X would be an improvement for better both eyes open speed. Not as easy as my EOtechs because they have unlimited eye relief but they're less precise than a scope at longer ranges the 308 is capable of. Strike Force was on the radar but don't like the reticle, covers up too much and it has a small objective. Don't have a money tree so anything more than one step above Viper line is out of the question and they still have reticle I don't like, small objective, plus weigh more. Six of one, half dozen of the other. : \

Have had for six months and shoot with it five times. Excellent glass and for the price I doubt you will find an equal. Turrets are very positive and much better to use compared to lower quality stuff.

So I decided to upgrade my rifle 2 seasons ago and when I did I was ready to buy a Leopold but a hunting buddy of mine said to give Vortex a try. I'm glad I did because they truly make amazing products that most working class people can afford. I have the Viper HS in 2.5-10 power and after using it the past 2 seasons I can say that I dont see a need to upgrade my scope ever. It's perfect for what I do and with the VIP warranty I will only buy Vortex from now on. Thanks Vortex for standing by your products in times when almost everyone else is doing their best to get out of it.

I have a Sauer Rifle in the shop getting a Muzzle brake made and installed. I ordered this scope to have Installed on it also. It’s in 6.5 PRC and am setting it up for Hunting. The Vortex Instagram guys were great answering my questions and made recommendations. I have several other Vortex Scopes and all work great. Thanks for making such great scopes

This scope is everything you need in a hunting scope. Larger objective lens, and 2.5-10 zoom offers a wide range for those close shots or when you have to reach out a little bit. I found the eye relief very easy to set up on my 30-06. Paired with the pro rings and defender caps you can’t go wrong

I’ve used this scope through 2 seasons on my Remington 700Ltr in .308. What a perfect fit! Crystal clear glass, always accurate and dependable. Not a single complaint. The $450 price tag didn’t hurt either. Great product!

Bought two of these (one on a 17 Remington and one for an ar10 6.5 creed both have been put to the test in hunting conditions and perform flawlessly with great clarity at a great price, its a lot closer to their Razor line in quality than it is in price.

The first scope I bought myself was a Vortex Viper 3-12×40 I was very happy with it. Had since passed it to a friend in need and bought another brand with a bigger magnification. Missed the Vortex eversince. It still hold my record for the longest kill shot of 550 meters on a Kudu. Awesome scopes and good quality and durability.

I bought this to put on a ar-10 I had recently gotten and it’s held up beautifully! The glass is super clear and every adjustment I’ve made has been spot on. I can’t wait to get out for deer season this year.

I bought this scope about 4 years ago and it always looks crisper and brighter than my father in laws more expensive scopes. I’ve shot deer at 50 yards and at 1000 yards without a struggle. I can’t think of any negatives.

When it comes to putting meat on the table during hunting season, I trust no other scopes to help me do this. Very accurate and very clear. Golden rule see what you are shooting at before you pull the trigger and you will with a Vortex scope.

I mounted this on my AR10. The overall features are what really bring value to this scope. The fit / finish, fiber optic index for the zoom adjustment, all assure you that you've made an excellent choice. The turret are excellent quality and the adjustment clicks are definitive without much tolerance play.

Bought this to top off a 6.8 build for last years whitetail season. Mounting and leveling scope took longer then sighting in! 3 shoots is all it took to get on center! Next 3 shots 3/4"moa. Harvested a deer this last season, new favorite deer riffle! Thanks for your quality product! Keep up the good work!

This build was focused on a versatile deer rifle for both open country and wooded close quarters. This is where the 2-5-10x magnification provides a wide FOV for both short and medium range. I was a little skeptical based on the price point, but I purchased the 2.5-10x44 Viper HS to put on a new .30-06 for the 2017-2018 hunting season. I mounted it in a set of Vortex Pro rings. I'm pretty tough on gear and it has performed well. The 30mm tube was much better in low light than the 1" tubes I've used in the past. I was happy with the glass and edge clarity for the price point as well. Is there better glass, yes, on Vortex HD models. For me, where I hunt, when 200 yards is rar...

Perfect for ARs
By DarkRifle
This scope is a perfect mating to my 18" AR rifle build along with a LaRue Tactical SPR-1.5 (LT104) mount. The Viper allows for quick transitions between targets with an uncluttered recital while providing enough information within the sight to settle down and make a confident, longer range shot. I am extremely pleased with this optic; simple, effective, durable and looks great on my rifle. Couldn't ask for more.
An evolutionary upgrade, Vortex Viper HS VHS-4303 riflescopes with Dead-Hold BDC reticle offer hunters and shooters an array of features sure to be well received. A new optical system highlighted with a 4x zoom range provides magnification versatility. The ultra-friendly eye box with increased eye relief gets shooters on target quickly and easily - because shooting opportunities can be measured in fractions of seconds. Built on a ultra-strong 30mm one-piece machined aluminum tube, the Viper HS delivers increased windage and elevation travel for optimal adjustment.
