A toy

For the price it's OK. What keeps it from being really good instead of just OK is the built-in light. There are two levels, on and off, and neither one really does the trick: on is too bright and off is not enough. Since it doesn't save/download photos either I can recommend it as a casual toy but not for serious work.

Clarity i-vu good for the money

The first i-vu received was terrible. It only worked for five minutes after every eight hours of charging. Clarity actually replaced it with a new version that holds a charge and works well. You know you have the new version if the instruction sheet explains the meaning of blinking LED's when charging. The single page of instructions are very incomplete. The image is bright and clear; I only wish the magnification started at 2X. The 5X to 20X range is a little too high for such a small screen. However, compared to the other similar devices at 4-8 times the price, it is a good deal.
