Shopper : I would like to use this with an iPhone, is this possible?ROBERT C : Sure...great with any camera...and soon easy to set up...take down...transport ...and store.ALFREDO I : Yes...you can use an iphone.BERT B : Yes. You can use it one I of two ways: 1. By holding the camera 2. Purchasing a iPhone gadget that can attach the camera to the tripod and a remote "snapper" for the camera, often this comes as a kit for around $29. Hope this helpsCARL M : It can be used with any photographic device, camera, iPhone, any cell phone with a camera, etc.
Shopper : Where can I get this today in the Bay Area?WILLIAM M : Best just to order online from Adorama. Shipping is quick, and reasonably priced, plus you'll know exactly what your getting. William.CHUCK G : Online at AdoramaDOUG C : Order from Adorama - that's where I got it. No idea what store might carry it. Doubt one does.PETER L : I don't have a clue. Why not just mail-order it from Adorama!
ROBERT D : The 'De-Shadow Box' came without set-up/assembly instructions. Can you e-mail them to me or let me know where I might go on the Internet to get a copy? Thank you.ARTHUR N : I don't believe mine came with instructions, either. First, remove the lights and stands from the pockets. Second, I just open the carrier up and flip the part with the pockets 360 degrees setting it up with the tops of the storage compartments down toward the table. This gives the best support. Third, hook up two sides (square white panels). Four, put the long unsupported (blue and white) rectangular pieces on by pressing the Velcro together at the "top" of the cover. Five, put the top panel on, pressing the Velcro strips together. I don't use the camera stand, as I'm not sure it will support my Nikon with either my macro (they use "Micro") lens. I hope this helps.PETER L : It doesn't come with any instructions other than the various assembled pictures on its storage box. Once you unfold the tent and look at the various pictures on the storage box, it becomes fairly self-evident how to assemble/disassemble it. If you still need help, call the folks at Adorama.

Good for small object photography

I bought this for my wife to take photos of small items she sells on Ebay and Etsy. He photos are much better quality by using this White box. She's very happy with the results.

Excellent! This De-Shadow Box is a bargain

I have an online business selling jewelry and was having a very difficult time getting shadow free photo's until using this unit. As a last resort I decided to try this vs spending substantially more for high-end equipment. Saved me much time and many $$$. Thank You Adorama - you've come thru again!

You get what you pay for.

The box itself is good and packs up nicely. It had a few wrinkles in it that you will need to deal with each time you unpack it. the lights are very weak. They cast a very yellow light on the subject. I'd recommend the box for the box sake but unless you change the bulbs you may never end up using them.

A Handy Portable Shooting stage.

I did change out the daylight balanced Halogen bulbs to 700 Lumen (5Watt) Daylight LED for heat considerations, which might be a way to go to upgrade this unit, but it is nice compact and well thought out mini shooting stage that folds up to a small folio size for storage. I used mine to document some issues with some filters (not purchased through Adorama), and one picked up a reflection of the Daylight LED luminare, with the stage as the backdrop, and one other is actually a decent pic if you ignore the flaw; of a ringlight set up inside the stage. So it has creative uses outside of just small items.

Good introductory set-up

If you are interested in starting table top photography this is a very good kit to use. It does all the basics well and gives you flexibility in positioning your subject.

Great starting point

I bought this from Adorama through Ebay. Arrived well-packed. Wasn't expecting a 'professional' solution for ($) but rather something to build on. I immediately replaced the halogen bulbs in the lights with 15Watt GU10 base LEDs which put out a lot more light. The 'camera support' is pretty worthless for a camera but great for your flash or other light. I like the way it folds up for transport. With some extra cloth and plastic sheets for use as backgrounds it does a good job. Worth considering.

A fine tent!

This photo tent is well constructed and perfectly functional for an online seller or anyone who wants to take photos of smaller objects.

Let there be lite

I sell smaller items on eBay and this lighting system seemed to be just what I needed to avoid using the flash on my camera which caused unwanted shadows and bright reflections. The shadow box IS just what I need, but I had difficulty following the meager instruction sheet included. However, despite my fumbling with the box itself, I started getting the results I wanted first time! All necessary accessories were included in a great portable package. I think the provided lights could be a bit brighter, though. I've never used a light box before, so I'll probably get a better handle on it with experience. The price was definitely right!

tent is great; lamps not so

The deshadow box is worth the price of the ensemble. The lamps are too light and top-heavy; move too easily, fall over and bulb breaks. I use a tripod so I haven't even tried the camera stand. But I really like the tent / box

Horrible Lights

The lights are not nearly bright enough and have a yellowish hue. Also, one bulb blew after about 10 seconds. So, this has turned out to be a completely useless purchase. I do not recommend.

decent de-shadow box for the price

For $30 it meets my expectations. Stores easily and does a decent job. Lights are a little under powered and the background cloths are a bit wrinkled and white cloth is a bit too sheer.

Meh, I would pass on this.

On paper, the specs seem like a good deal, but in practice, this product will let you down. The two lights are extremely under-powered. Imagine pointing two flashlights at your setup -- that's about the power of these two lamps. The ball mount on the tripod is poor quality too. Unless you mount your camera on the level, the ball mount can't be tightened adequately to hold the camera steady. The light box itself is nice, but the included backdrops are thin and creased (from being folded). So I've had to add my own lights, used my own tripod, and cut (from a paper roll) my own backdrop. I might as well have just created my own light box while I was at it. Not a good value.

Compact

Very quick to set-up. This is the kind of thing that can be built yourself, but for me the DE-Shadow is compact, easily stored and has what's generally needed for small items. Am quite satisfied.

Exactly What I Expected

This de-shadow box is exactly what I expected. The box is well constructed with wacky instructions. It works great and is versatile. Previous reviews mentioned flimsy camera stand. Yup. I use a sturdy tripod anyway. The halogen lights are adequate, and other types of lighting can be added. I purchased some colored acrylic plastic squares to supplement the white and black clothes. Don't have to mess with trying to make my own de-shadow box.

Not bad at all table top photo studio

I have been using it for a month for small product photo stills and it worked Great. I had to add my own white backgrounds for the back and bottom, the white "Background Sweep" is translucent / see-through and will not work on my dark desk. Lights and sides provided great lighting. The camera stand is way to tall 11 1/4" before adding Camera and top of the "studio" 15 1/2" , unless you are trying to do aerial photography of your little items, I use a tripod on the floor in front on the desk. I would have liked some instructions how to assemble with it and something about the tips and tricks that can be used with this product. I am really happy with it, but the background and stand, but I was never planing on using the stand.

Lots Of Fun

Pros:I use this product for small items that I post on Flickr. It's nice to have a solid background when I want to manipulate photos in photoshop. It's light weight and it went together really fast. I love the soft light the lamps produce. Cons: The construction isn't that strong, so don't be rough with it. The white cloth they provide gets dirty easy, so watch what you set on it. The lamps get very hot, turn them off if you're not going to use them. The set up needs a fair bit of room because the camera stand juts out in the front, so make sure you have a fair size table to set this up on. All in all I like my shadow box. It's fun to use but I wouldn't recommend it for professional use. It's more for the hobby protographer.

Good Introduction to a photography box

Granted that this is inexpensive, its a nice deshadow box. The items work well together although the light is a bit weak. This is a great model for making larger ones DIY. I did suppliment it with a larger light source and its worked out well. For the price as a starter kit, you can't beat it. Some people complain that there are no instructions. If they need instructions then perhaps this simple device is beyond them. It does take a while to set up the lights properly since each object is inherently different. But its not really something you can teach in a manual. Play with it and read a book of proper lighting theory. The slim instruction booklet is in laughably bad English.

Decent setup for the price

I use this lightbox to photograph products for my business. The supplied backgrounds are not great, a white sheet works better. Overall the lights and tripod work as they should and this is fine for photographing products to sell online.

Great! And what a value!

I just received this today and I think its perfect for photographing my jewelry. The camera store where I bought my Nikon D3200 had one similar that they wanted $119 for. So I consider this a great value!

Works Great for the price!

We use this for small product stills and it worked perfect. We just added our own white backgrounds for the back and botton of the enclosure for a cleaner sharper look when taking the pictures. Lighting and sides provided perfect lighting.

Everything you need in one box.

I am a student and I want to learn more about the lighting of a good pohotograph. I can experiment with this product. I also like the way it all fits together into a case, really cool. I would have liked some instructions with it and something about the efects that can be created with this product. I am really happy with it.

Amazing Value!

I bought this product to photograph my skin care products to sell on a craft site. This set is a fantastic value. I was shocked and appreciative of the quality for the price. It comes in a case worth the price alone. I gave it a 4 instead of 5 because the camera stand sets only to photograph from above and I need to have a level view. Using gorillapod instead...no problem. Great job Adorama! Thank you! This would be a perfect gift idea for a crafter or hobbist.
