Highly recommend the Aero to those looking to upgrade from a Reverb G2 or Quest. I narrowed my search down to this and the Pimax Crystal. I appreciated Varjo's experience in the VR market and trusted they produce a high quality product which is why I ultimately went this route. The new price is right and the setup is a breeze. the Aero is much more efficient than my Reverb and I'm able to get better performance using less resources, something to consider for folks with older VR capable systems. I use it for flight simming and am getting clear images when used with its dynamic foveated rendering feature. Avg 80-90 FPS with my new RTX 4080 PC, and ~35 FPS with my old RTX 3070.

This truly is the next level of VR. No more continuously adjusting so your eyes stay in the tiny little sweat pot where everything isn't a blurry mess. Varjo uses a new lens technology that is far superior to fresnel lenses. I absolutely love this headset. I've owned many, the original Vive, Valve Index, and HP Reverb G2. This blows them out of the water. The only downside is that you're only getting the head-mounted display. You will have to buy the tracking stations and controllers somewhere else. Like anything else, I highly recommend looking at reviews, and specs.

Varjo Aero is first headset which has enough high resolution and superior optics using aspheric lenses. With these two, spending hours using it won't cause eye strain or fatigue, whether you play favorite games or watch high definition movies including 3D titles, which in VR look amazing. The IMAX 3D movie titles put you in realistic simulated IMAX theater where the wow factor hits the roof. The Aero headset is fully compatible with Valve products including latest Base Stations and Index Controllers. Varjo provides excellent customer service, always reaponsive and helpful. I highly recommend this product for all who seek highest quality of VR entertainment.

I'm basically a flight Simulator user and I have already had two different VR headsets. I started with the Oculus and then I sold that and went for the HP reverb G2. I thought the reverb was excellent however I decided to dish out the big bucks for the Varjo Aero. After it was finally availabe with no wait I went for it. At first it honestly did NOT seem that big a leap form the G2. I followed all the suggested setup from several flight simmer YouTubers and I was getting the results I thought I should be getting. I basically started expirimenting with my own configurations and it takes a LOT of trial and error. eventually I think I have found VR nirvana with flight simulator, it DOES look excellent! You just need to try your own settings and see what eventually works for your setup. I LOVE IT! Well worth the money if you have it. Unfortunately I had to get 2 SteamVR basestations because both the Oculus and HP did not need them, so all in all it costs about $2600 all in! A lot, but it's GREAT!

If clarity is your number 1 priority, this is the best current option. Fov is soso not a step forward and much much lower than any pimax. Included earbuds are actually pretty decent and they have volume controll which is nice.

Varjo Aero. Reach new heights in virtual reality
Varjo Aero offers a generational leap in visual fidelity for professionals and leading-edge VR users alike. With a future-proofed optical design and stunning dual mini-LED displays, Aero is the lightest & brightest professional-grade headset ever made.
Industry-leading visual fidelity for aviators, creators, and VR forerunners
Elevate your virtual world with true-to-life colors, brightness, and contrast levels. Varjo Aero features dual mini-LED displays that are individually color-calibrated with an incredible 150 nits of brightness and a 99% SRGB / 95% DCI-P3 color space.
With variable resolution aspheric lenses, the difference is crystal clear
The Varjo Aero features a cutting-edge optical design that propels users to a new level of visual fidelity, pushing the pixels tighter together directly in front of you. The variable resolution lenses create an ultra-sharp peak resolution of 35 PPD, right at the center of focus where it matters most - mimicking the way the human eye works. Alternative commercially available headsets max out closer to 20 PPD.
Compared to the murky experience of consumer-grade Fresnel lenses, the lenses in the Aero are aspheric, offering an incredible true-to-life visual experience that makes god rays and the screen-door effect a thing of the past.
Automatically tailored to you
Varjo Aero comes with the world's most advanced built-in eye tracking at 200Hz. It features an automatic, mechanical interpupillary distance adjustment that always delivers the best possible visual quality for each user.
With our one-dot calibration, it takes seconds to have the headset find the perfect optical fit tuned to your eyes. The eye tracking also allows for advanced dynamic foveated rendering to take place to further enhance application performance.
Welcome to business class comfort.
Varjo Aero's advanced ergonomics and reduced weight make it the most comfortable VR headset ever made. The device is designed to feel weightless, allowing you to escape gravity and be completely immersed in your VR experience.
A perfected combination of our industry-leading three-point precision head strap, a carefully calibrated counterweight, and active cooling, make multi-hour VR sessions for flying, driving, or designing a pleasure to complete.
