Porta Trace lightbox
Works well in general. However, when editing slides, they tend to fall off the front when lightbox is tilted into its normal position. I fixed this by adding extra-thick tape to the top front of the lightbox, sticking up above the edge about 1/4 of an inch. Too bad the manufacturer didn't think to do so itself.

Good, but My Bad
I did not use this product for a while, and when I did I discovered it had scratches on the surface. Then I realized it was a cover. My bad. This is a good unit to review slides and negatives.

Perfect for editing images to be scanned
I have a huge number of page-sleeved negatives and transparencies I need to go through and evaluate for scanning. The unit has folding wire legs which allow it to tilt up. It's not so steep that they slide, but I can see very well and use a loupe for quality control. My computer screen is slightly elevated; this unit sits in front, and I can do all my notes on MS Word or Excel. In addition to its' utility the stainless steel housing is attractive and looks professional. The light is very bright and color balanced for my slides, so I know I will spend many hours using it to organize all of my pre-digital work... A perfect tool for solving a big problem...

I would buy this product again and again
Perfect to look at my old slides and 35mm negatives.
