John D : So one user uses it on Fuji X E 2. Does it have color abberations?BRANDON G : It did have slight color aberrations on my a7, but not sure about the Fuji.PHILLIP W : Not sure about Fuji but I can on the Leica m240. Not a major issue - just fringes when the sun is at the edge of the shot or jut out of the frameMARC P : I use it on a Leica M9. It gives me distortions in light and shape. I shoot always in black and white, though, so I don't know what effect it would have on a color image. I always buy what I want and see how it works. That's what I did here. I read a bunch of stuff, most of which was timid and not helpful. So, I went ahead. I don't use it a lot, but when I use it, I know what the results will be. Aberrations? Sure, that's why I use it.
FRED C : Is this lens compatible with the Sony full frame cameras?STEVEN P : I haven't tried combination. It works beautifully with the NEX-5 and NEX-6 (and presumaby their successor the A6000). It doesn't work well with the NEX-7. I would be 95% sure that it would have dark magenta corners with the full-frame. Perhaps you could correct it in software with Cornerfix but it almost certainly would not work out of the camera.PHILLIP W : I have only used it on Leica but even on a full frame M series (M240) the lens is prone to pink fringes. They only tend to happen when the shot is taken into the sun. I suspect with Sony where the sensor is not designed for M series lenses (and thus the photocells are not designed to accept light from very extreme angles at the edge of the lens) you will suffer from a lot of image edge issues.
Shopper : What camera does this lense fit?RON W : As the ad states it fits the Leica M and any other cameras with the correct adapter -Nex series, 4/3 micro, etc.J. MICHAEL H : Leica M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M7, M8, & M9 Epson R-D1 Bessa R2A & R3A Zeiss Ikon from 2005 and mewerYIFEI W : Well, technically, it fits all 135 camera, it is built for Leica VM mount but works fine with Sony Nex E mount if you buy the associated adapter ring, I think its well enough for M43 system as well. Anyway, its a manual focus lens, not AF build in.STEVEN P : It is designed for the Leica M cameras. But it can fit on a Sony NEX-5N, Fuji X-Pro, any micro-4/3 camera with an adapter. It also fits the Sony NEX-5 and NEX-7 with an adapter, but on those cameras leads to severe vignetting and colors shifts in the corners, and so is not recommended for those. (The NEX-5N has a different sensor.)

sharp, wide, built like a tank.

The first thing I noticed the incredible sturdiness and heavy weight in a compact package that would even suggest to drive nails in the wall with it without hurting the lens. No other modern lens can compare. But using it as a fine optical tool will call for much more; a wonderful journey to traditional simplicity and quality. All metal/glass construction, here is no electronic contacts to worry about that also increases reliability. The focusing ring turn tight and smooth, aparture ring is the same with sure clicks I can only dream about on my Fuji lenses. The integrated sun shade is clever, beautiful and works not like the cheap bulky, ugly and shabby plastic fall offs. And the looks!!! This glass is an attention maker, I received many compliments,this looks like a lens from another World. The first use on architectural objects indoor and outdoors, and later landscapes gave me even more confidence. I used successfully on two cameras, a Leica M8 and the Fujifilm x-e2 where it worked nearly as a 16mm lens and the results did never disappointed me. Very little post processing resulted great images. I shoot 95% from camera B&W and the contrast, sharpness, depth of field had never been less than my expectation. It might work differently on different and full frame cameras but for my purpose just did the right thing, and I produced some breathtaking arcitectural fine art images with it. I'd buy it again.

Great lens, really sharp and really wide, its not for digital however. The rear nodal point is far to close to the sensor/film. This isn't a problem for film, but for digital it creates weird color fringes. Use on a full frame film camera, not for digital.

Ultra Wide used on Sony NEX-7

This is the widest lens I can put on my Sony NEX-7 when I use an M-mount adapter. It is sharp, has an amazing depth of field, and is built like a tank. The only compllaint is that I need to use CornerFix software to correct for the color cast and vignetting it creates on the digital sensor. This isn't a big deal, but it is one more step toward the finished image.
