Voigtlander quality as youd expect

The lens arrived in good condition. And as for the lens itself, it's superb. Physical quality is something you can appreciate even years ahead. As for optics, they are not without flaws but they are overall great and a worthy investment.

Rectiliniar marvel

In the recent past, initially rented this lens in the Leica M-mount and found it to be as good as any of the super wide primes from the big-2 DSLR manufacturers. Now using for architecture on my A7R3, it is fantastic. Well built, rectiliniar with minimal distortion. Shooting this lens on my A6500, it becomes a 22mm F4.5. Even wide-open, when zone-focusing it becomes a fast, high-res combination for pr, candids, street shooting et.al., an unintended benefit.

Get the BIG Picture!!!

Using this on my Leica M9 really lets me get EVERYTHING in the photo. I am using the optional viewfinder for composition, which is about all you need to do after setting the aperture to F/11 and zone focus at about 15' It's like having a Point-n-shoot camera that yields striking images. The vignetting is not bad and image is sharp.

Shooting on Leica and Fuji X-E2

I've been shooting this hyperfocal at f/8 (i.e. set infinity at far f/8 bar) and it focuses down to about 0.5m (1.5 ft). On the Fuji, I just bump the ISO up to 1600 or 3200, where it's still pretty clean. On the leica, I push HP5 to 3200. The photos are great, really sharp and look good. On the fuji, I can zoom in as far as it can zoom it and can still read labels or markings. I was thinking of getting the version 2, as I'm mainly shooting M6, but I'm glad I got the version 3 for doing some digital with it. I've not done a side-by-side comparison with the Fuji 14mm, which I also own. Informally, the Voigt looks at least as good in the center. I've not specifically compared the corners so cannot say.

Super Wide-Angle, Full-Frame Compatible
SUPER WIDE-HELIAR 15mm F4.5 Aspherical, an interchangeable lens for full-frame (Nikon FX format) mirrorless cameras with the Nikon Z-mount, created by Voigtlander. SUPER WIDE-HELIAR 15mm F4.5 Aspherical is a super wide angle manual focus lens. The lens image circle covers a full-frame chip and its optical design is optimized for the image sensor of Nikon Z system cameras.

The lens is equipped with electronic contacts which communicate with the body. In addition to Exif information, and in-body image stabilization (3 axes), by combining with camera body features and the latest firmware, the lens has three types of focusing support functions:

• Focusing by color changing of the focus point frame
• Peaking function focusing
• Focusing with the enlargement button

Inheriting the lens configuration of its popular 1999 progenitor, it displays extremely low distortion and sharp images right to the periphery of the frame, despite its super-wide angle of view. (110 Degree diagonal). The lens also has an optical design that optimizes the angle of incident light rays to prevent color fringing caused by the structure of digital image sensors.

The minimum focusing distance is very close at 0.126m (0.25 magnification.) A 58mm filter can be attached without the need for a special adapter, and the metal hood can be simply removed using a flat-head screwdriver.

This makes it possible to utilize in a wide variety of work, using rectangular and other filters, often used in landscape photography.
