I would buy it again.

Great product, well built, and surprisingly inexpensive.

Decent...

I will start by explaining I am not using this lens on a Bessa or Leica, but as many new buyers are, I am using it on a sony (nex-7). So, keep this in mind. My first impressions were: Impressive build quality, like the half stops on the aperture ring, small, heavy (in a good way), sharp when stopped down to f3.5 or more. I find the focus ring awkward to use because the lens is so compact. Im getting used to it though. Things that keep this lens from a higher rating: Pretty heavy C/A wide open (not sure if it being mounted on the sony exacerbates this issue) and rather long minimum focus distance(my main complaint) of over 2 feet. Today's modern lenses in this range nearly all have minimums under one foot, and on most digital cameras it's now down to a few inches. It really limits this lens being so long, and close quarters photos arnt going to happen. Overall its a decent lens, and you cant beat it's size, but for over $600 I was hoping for a little more lens.

Good lens with some distortion

It is nice reasonably sharp (but not clinically sharp) lens with some barrel distortions which kind of add to a classic look. I like it a lot for street shooting and casual / family everyday moments shots.

No surprises here

This is a very nice little lens, but expect no surprises with it. It's cheap and there are lots of sharper M mount lenses out there. You get exactly what you pay for. The ideal uses for this lens are low light handheld shots, people shots (where you want to smooth the skin), and special effects of old photos. This lens is really fun to use. It's constructed well, and if you know what to expect from it then it'll deliver as needed. At such a cheap price, this is a no brainer.

Excellent and affordable

Excellent lens for the price. Much less expensive then the Leica equivalent, but still delivers excellent image quality in a very compact, well-built package.
