Voigtlander Ultron 35mm f/2.0 Aspherical VM Lens for Leica M

The VM mount interchangeable lenses of the Voigtlander "Vintage Line" series for rangefinder cameras combine an exterior design reminiscent of the glamorous styling of classical lenses now regarded as historical masterpieces together with optical performance that matches contemporary photographic equipment.

In 2013, Cosina Co., Ltd. released the NOKTON 50mm F1.5 Aspherical as the first lens of this series, and this lens, together with the ULTRON 35mm F1.7 Aspherical and HELIAR 50mm F3.5 that followed, have been well received by users.

We are now adding two new lenses to this series. The ULTRON Vintage Line 35mm F2 Aspherical VM is a compact wide-angle lens with the minimum focus distance of 58mm. The COLOR-SKOPAR Vintage Line 21mm F3.5 Aspherical VM is a new compact super wide lens with the minimum focus distance of 50mm.

By limiting the maximum aperture to a practical size, the lenses realize both compactness and high performance. While the optical design features an element with aspherical surfaces to ensure optical performance that can be used with confidence at the maximum aperture, the lenses themselves are very small in size.

These lenses offer the portability for use as a snapshot shooter, at which rangefinder cameras excel, and a beautiful design that provides satisfaction of ownership. They are designed for rangefinder-coupled digital and film cameras, and feature an optical design optimized for imaging on mirrorless digital cameras using a mount adapter. The design features measures for reducing color cast in the corners of an image, making the lens suitable for imaging on many other platforms as well as rangefinder-coupled cameras.
