OK for the price if you get it on sale. The shoulder straps are thin with not much protection. Not a ton of internal space for large lenses. (70-200+). Perfectly usable for a short day bag with entry equipment. Padding not amazing for expensive equipment. If you have expensive or even intermediate gear I would suggest you save up and buy a proper bag.

Poor quality which I suspected before purchasing, used as a storage bag and not out in the field

I've been using this bag for a couple of years now. It's wearing on the bottom, but it has held up well. Certainly a great value considering how much less it was than the name-brand "fancy" bags. Has support in all the right places so I can carry heavy gear for a long time!

This was a Christmas gift for my son, who was so very excited to see that I got a camera backpack for him. At first he was delighted, then a bit skeptical that his camera would fit ... his is a filming camera; a Sony VX1000. For awhile he was getting frustrated, thinking we'd have to return it for something larger, but thanks to the versatility of the dividers in the backpack, we finally got the camera to fit snug and perfectly, with extra padding at the bottom and accessory storage in the sides as well. Excellent!!! He is SO HAPPY! THANK YOU!

This is definitely the best bag I found for its size for its price. I have a nikon d800, a 70 to 200, 2 small prime lenses, 2 filter kits, a flash unit, and some over small accessories and it fits all of that in just the bottom compartment! I really wanted this for travel because it fits all of my camera gear plus my laptop and then still has lots of room for other things in the top such as my phone charger or books and magazines for the plane ride. I highly recommend this bag! The tripod holder works well too. This bag is about the size you would think it would be. I know in some instances bags are bigger or smaller than you expect, but this one is just about right. Definitely glad I purchased this.

Great camera bag. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I haven't had it long enough to know how it's going to hold up, but very pleased with its construction.

This bag has many useful features and is ok for light use. I had in semi heavy rotation for less than 6 months before I had issues. the top zipper broke and cannot be closed now, the dividers in the body are not for heavy telephoto lens....now they are deformed and washed out. I usually travel with 3 lenses, and no matter how I pack, they are all over the bag once I get to my shoot The laptop area is padded well. but if you have heavy lenses and travel with a laptop, this bag will wear quickly, but I did put it through the paces with sporting events and weddings etc., not for Pro use.

Bought the bag to store and transport my equipment for shooting my kids ball games, etc. Nice pockets and design but a zipper broke and seams pulling apart after one month.

I had originally ordered the large version, it was backordered a while. Adorama kept me informed on the situation. I decided asfter a bit to get the medium size that was in stock. It was very easy to change the order and once it was placed the backpack came within a few days. The backpack is padded very nicely. lots of room for equipment and works just like a regular camera bag. I do wish that theupper compartment had a few more places to store items rather than just being a big catch space, but it seems to work for most of my misc stuff. It sits nicely on my back and is easy to swing off and get to the camera. I especially like the side camera access so that by opening it, I can get to the camrea, but the rest of the equipment stays in place.

I am a really big guy. This pack fits me great, and I have plenty of mobility! The bag has more than enough room for my equpment, and enough spare room for some hiking gear for a day trip. I have had other packs, and have never been completely happy with them. Even some more expensive packs! The only down side is it does not have a pocket for a water bottle. That would make the perfect hiking camera backpack.

Very handy when i need to travel with laptop. I packed a D300, 35mm lens, flashlight and a battery grip and its spacious enough for at least 2 more lens. The padding could have been thicker though. But its sufficient. The top storage compartment is big enuff to pack my lens cleaning kit and batteries and even my laptop charger in.

Be advised!!! The rain cover is completely useless. My bag and all contents were drenched. Still waiting to see if items were ruined. You may as well throw the rain cover in the trash and save the room. The bag is certainly less quality than expected. Not awful for the price but you may be surprised by the low quality.

This bag may be too light for outdoorsman use, but it's perfect for trekking through airports and getting to and from an office on a daily basis. It fits all of my most-used camera gear, a laptop, an iPad, a pair of very large headphones, enough cords and cables to make it all work, and has enough space left for a couple of snacks for the road. It makes a great carry-on bag and the separate laptop compartment makes it easy to get through security without unpacking all of your other stuff. I love the adjustable waist belt for taking the load off your shoulders while hiking through a big airport, yet it's easy to tuck the belt away when you don't need it. My one and only complaint: every "monolithic compartment" camera bag I've seen uses foam dividers covered in hook-and-loop material to keep lenses, bodies, flash units, and other stuff separate and secure. This bag is the same, but the shape and size of the foam dividers provided means that you are very limited in how the dividers can be arranged within the large compartment. I had to use some foam dividers from a couple of my other old bags in order get a tight fit for my camera gear.

I am disabled and needed a bag for a full range of equipment that I could access while on crutches. This is perfect. We travel a lot and this looks like it will protect my equipment very well.

Will the large Vivitar backpack hold a laptop with the dimensions of 16.5 x 11 x 1.5? The width (11") will be tight, but I believe it will fit. After owning this backpack for a short time, I believe it is the best backpack on the market for the cost. Very good quality and very funcyional!

I have been looking for a camera backpack that had a separate compartment for my camera equipment and my personal items. The Vivitar backpack has room for one or two camera bodies plus several lenses, a flash and other misc equipment. It is very well constructed and very comfortable to wear. This backpack will last me for many years to come. I will use the back pack for international mission trips with my church plus outings with the local camera club when I will need to be hands free to take photographs. It is a great backpack for the money and I highly recommend it.
