This is obvsly not the best or priciest polarizer one can find, but it does the job adequately without any significant drawbacks.

Then lens is a terrific value. I finally understand why the sky and clouds in my photo's were never as sharp and deep blue as those taken by the pro's! I recommend it strongly.

The Vivitar Circular Polarizer is a great value. Image quality is consistent across the whole frame. It rotates easily but says put when you’re done adjusting it and, although it looks like the ring it’s mounted in is wide, it’s really all the way out of the way - no vinetting issues.

this CPL works well on my Nikon 70-300 mm lens, where I'm in the Greek Isles shooting in some mist haze surrounded by sea and sun

A 72mm PL filter for under $?? What the heck, I thought I'd try it. It seems to do the job and the build quality is fine. I'm sure a critical review comparing it to high-end filters might find it has a tint to it or perhaps other flaws, but I'm using this for web photos and so it gets the job done at a nice price.

This filter makes it impossible to focus correctly, whether using autofocus or doing it manually. It behaves the same way on both my Sigma 150-600 (S) and my Sigma 120-300mm. I've never seen anything like it in several decades of photography.

For the price it is hard to beat, screws on to the front of the lens very smoothly, Works exactly why I brought it.

Bought this CPL for my 150-600mm zoom lens. Works great for wildlife photography on sunny days e.g. whale/dolphin at sea. The performance/price is very good.

The threads on the filter are cut coarsely which makes it seem as if there is grit between the filter & lens. The filter made images appear extremely soft. No adjustments were possible. I would not recommend this purchase.

Ok, not sure if I wrote a previous review. But recently I broke this filter. I think I dropped my camera bag on the ground and it broke. But I have to say, even though it broke, it did not break into pieces! It was laminated or something. Nothing broke off. I am impressed. I have had others shatter, and I was at a kids party when I discovered it broke. So I was REALLY happy it did not shatter like other I have had. I broke it many months ago, so that it was difficult to turn. And even though it was more difficult to spin, it still was a great filter. I considered getting a "better" one, but this one was fantastic. I drop and bang my camera a lot, but almost always use a CPL or NDF. I have dropped them out of windows and all sorts of crazy things, and it did not break. By far the longest I have been able to keep a filter from shattering, scratching, ect.

I am using this circular polarizing filter on my Minolta AF 50mm lens on my Sony A-37. its amazing what the difference is in image coloration vs a standard UV filter. for the price tag its worth getting over a standard UV filter and the build quality is good as well.

I use the polarizer both for its intended purpose--eliminating glare and reflection in skies and to saturate colors--and as a neutral density filter to slow exposures. I like the thick ring which makes it easy to turn with a finger as I look through the viewfinder. When I went to remove it from the lens after my first day of shooting, it came off so easily that I worry a bit that it might come off during usage. But for the price, it's a terrific buy, comparable to filters that cost over twice as much.

...there's a small but considerable degrade on image sharpness.
