Every Gear Pack should have one !!!
It works right out of the box. I have tested with Canon 50D & 5dMkII with equal success up to about 50' ( may go further, but not tested). Works very well with Kids, Pets, Lightning, Fireworks, for a simple, single camera operation ... anywhere you may need a remote release. I don't see the need for a cable release any longer!

Great But...
I found this unit to work great. Only problem is the battery in the receiver died after basically 1 use. It is about $7 to replace.

Good range and reliability
I got this to allow me to get in more pictures. It's worked great. Thus far, about the farthest away I've tried it is about 300ft, and it worked just fine then. It's also very handy for using your camera in 'bulb' mode for extended exposures.
