Golf usage. The screw that holds the battery is exactly where you place your hand/thumb to hold the device. After only a few uses, the screw came undone, probably from the movement of the hand/thumb over the screw. Thankfully, I found the screw and the battery and put them back in place. Then, on the same round of golf, it happened again and I had lost the screw. I called Vivitar for a new screw and they were not able to provide me with a replacement part.

If there is anything in the background behind the flag this finder can not pick up the flag. Thus, it is useless! I am going to give it to my sister-in-law to bird watch.

A bad battery is the main culprit I found for my unit not working when I first got it. A trip to Radio Shack solved that issue.

The product is on the lower spectrum for golf range finders. It does not have the "pinseeker" technology of the more expensive devices making it difficult to laser a flag stick from more than 80 yards or so.seemed pretty accurate when ranging large objects such as trees or bunkers.

Have tested performance many times and found this Vivitar Range Finder to be consistently accurate. Its range is also farther than many other models making it useful for much longer distances.

Got this for golf and it does not work well for that application. Hard to get a reading on any target and most time does not even register a distance. Very dissappointed.

Vivitar's 6X25 Digital Laser Range Finder/Golf Scope gives you 6X magnification to bring all the action up close. Incredibly accurate, it measures from 16 feet to almost one-half mile with accuracy within less than 3 feet, allowing you to determine the distance to the pin without guessing.
