It does what it’s supposed to do.
It does exactly what a UV filter is supposed to do and that is protect the high dollar glass of the lens. The local camera store wanted $ for a filter that does the same thing for Les than 1/10th the cost.

better options are out there
this one barely have any coating on it, and is quite thick. for a little more you can get a hoya slim HMC filter that's much better made.

It's okay
Coating is not as good as the better stuff, say Hoya Pro or B+W MultiCoated, but it's there. Serves as a lens cap to protect front lens elements.
