Cheap stuff ain't good stuff.
The phrase "you get what you pay for" pays off on this tripod. Disappointed right out of the box. It felt sturdy but operated cheaply. The crank and teeth on the center column cracks and sticks a bit because its made out of hard plastic. It may not break for a few years but I'm not going to put a few thousand dollars of gear at risk on a $45 tripod that's already making creaking noises. Probably be a good tripod for a cell phone.

Vivitar 82" tripod
The legs appear to be well designed and well made but the center post is very cheaply made with plastic gear and rack and a flimsy crank. It does not crank smoothly unless you help plull it up as you crank. Definitely not worth the money.

Great rtipod Easy to use
Having used many Tripods, I found that this Tripod really is Great. I am satrting to use the Vivitar 82" Photo/ Video Tripod item # VIV - VPT - 7082 with my Telescope which is the Orion GoScope III Telescope. One thing that I have noticed on this particular Tripod is the soft hand grips, none of my other Tripod have them and the quick release plate that attached very nicely to my Telescope. Using the Telescope on this particular Tripod the Telescope moves up and down left and Right very easy. When you want the tripod to move you can turn the knobs and then tighten the knobs. The only thing I would like to say is Vivitar should make a Quick Release Plate so I can attach my other Telescope. All in all it comes with a very nice carry bag. A really nice Tripod to use, and it's a great Tripod for everything including a Telescope.

When I received this with my camera gear I had no idea what I was getting, its massive. I love it, especially to go and take pictures of groups to get the Same uniform look, very sturdy and I am glad I received it in my camera deal.

Great Tripod easy and fun to use for Astronomy
The Vivitar 82" Photo / Video Tripod item # VIV - VPT - 7082 is in my opinion an Excellent tripod I have various other Tripods but I found that this particular Tripod is the best Tripod for a small Telescope like the Orion GoScope III Telescope. I find it's easy to use and fun to use with my Telescope. I also find the soft foam that is on the Tripod is easy for the hands meaning that when one wants to spread the 3 legs on the Tripod it's very easy to do, I also find that holding the tripod when you leave your house or car it's very comfortable to hold the Tripod, plus I like the tripod because it has a very nice carry bag and putting the Tripod in it's carry bag which is a zippered soft carry bag all you have to do is collapse it's legs and put it in the zippered soft carry bag and it has a very easy Instruction Manual and when I want to use the Tripod all I have to do is take it out of the zippered carry bag and just unlock the leg locks. All in all it's fun to use and a very great tripod. I give Vivitar 5 stars It's an excellent tripod for a small Telescope.

Nice and stable for a lightweight, portable video tripod.
3 of the 4 Vivitar tripods are shown. They are lightweight and work well for the cost.They provide plenty of support for the smaller cameras we are using in this shoot. They can be really extended to provide a number of shot angles. We did have one that had fluid leaking but otherwise, they are fine.

No portrait tilt available.
I like the tripod. It has bubble levels to ensure that the camera is level. It is very sturdy and extends to a very nice height to get over view shots. The locks on the legs are sturdy and there is no slippage.
I would have given 5 stars but the head does not tilt to allow you to switch from landscape to portrait shots. This is a big drawback for me. I would have packaged it and returned it for one that would tilt but I had thrown all the packaging away before I discovered that lack of tilting option.
I would recommend it for someone that does not need to tilt the camera.

Really decent tripod
Really good tripod. Great since it came with the a7iii bundle. Knocking off 1 star since the mount fits a bit weirdly compared to some of the newer models coming out, but hey, it's a tripod and it works nicely.

Vivitar Tripod is light and very adjustable.
This is a light weight and multi-adjustable tripod. The mount is easily detachable for ease of connection camera to tripod. Nice Travel bag too.

I searched high and low for a very tall tripod because I myself am a tall girl. I am very pleased with the durability and sturdiness of this tripod. I mount my Canon camera or cell phone on the tripod. I would buy another one and yes I definitely recommend this tripod! :)

This tripod is tall on height and quality
I needed a very tall tripod (always shoot from above). This one fit the bill precisely. It's high-quality, easily adjustable, has levels and quick-release, and folds nicely into a portable, zippered bag. And it met my height requirement. I recommend this tripod to others with similar needs.
