About VariZoom VZ-PG-L
VariZoom's VZ-PG-L (compact pistol grip) is one of three new medium duty camcorder controls offered by VariZoom. When used with the optional deluxe clamp, this compact prosumer control was designed for use on our custom DV camera shoulder support VZ-LSP, as well as tripods and other camera gear. Light weight with a curved handle for a comfortable grip when used with the VZ-LSP or other shoulder supports. This control is already a favorite of many videographers.
It is packed with all the same functions as our popular VZ-Pro-L. The combination zoom and speed control dial allows you to vary speeds in a single movement, smoothly from a slow crawl to fast and then slow again. Also features manual focus control, a "wake-up from standby" switch, a recording light indicator, and a universal tripod/crane mounting clamp.
What it's for...The VZ-PG-L is a compact remote lens controller designed specifically for the popular "prosumer" one-piece DV camcorders, including the Sony VX-1000, DSR-200, TRV-900, PD-100A; and Canon's XL1, GL1, Optura and Elura (with docking station).
How it works...The VZ-PG-L sends zoom and focus commands through the camcorder's built-in LANC protocol, which is standard in all Digital-8 and most every DV and Hi-8 camcorder on the market today.
Where it connects... Just plug the controller cable into your camcorder's Control-L (LANC) jack. That's all there is to it! Does not require any modification or alteration to your camera. Use The VZ-PG-L hand-held, or clamp the controller to your tripod pan handle.
