DONNA G : Can you use it on Windows 8?DAVID L : From Amazon's site on their description for this tablet:
Compatibility and Warranty Information
Requiring a standard USB port for Mac and PC, Bamboo Create is compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, or Windows XP SP3, and with Mac OSX 10.5 and above.
It appears that you cannot use it on Windows 8.FARIDA M : I don't know I have an apple and honestly I have not used it yet.FRANCIS S : Spry, I use it with Macs.BRIAN A : Yes, the CTH670 Bamboo Create Digital Tablet, works great with my Windows 8 64bit system.
Shopper : is the active space any big difference from the smaller one? I'm really looking into getting a tablet so I can make createing my characters easier for me, does the bigger one have more of an advantage or is it just about the same?BRIAN A : This is my first digitizer, so unfortunately I am not able to compare this with the smaller version. I am very satisfied with the size of the active area of my digitizer, and personally would not buy a digitizer with a smaller active area. One enhancement I highly recommend, is the wireless accessory kit which allows me to work remotely without the wire getting in the way.KEVIN W : yes it is bigger than the smaller bamboo tablets...just check the technical specs for exact measurements.HOLLISTAIRE K : I have three tablets, one of them the largest Wacom makes (you know, the monster that's the size of a pool table?), and one about 16" wide (another brand) this one, the Bamboo, is my favorite and my smallest though not the smallest one Wacom makes. I'm a 3D modeler/animator and pro illustrator, and I have to honestly say that this smaller tablet, the Bamboo, is by FAR my favorite. Portability and weight are a huge factor for me because I literally work everywhere on my laptop, and this tablet fits in my 17-inch laptop case which the others did not. I may get a smaller one at some point, but I won't go larger--if you've ever watched "making-of" docs with places like Peter Jackson's WETA digital workshop, you'll see guys using tablets about the size of a cigar box lid. I quit using mice years ago; I draw everything on my touchpad. However, for things like outlining a character, drawing hair, etc., the tablet is essential. Its only cons are the fact that sometimes you may have trouble getting your keyboard and cursor to behave while the tablet's plugged in (e.g., if someone contacts you in chat); in which case if you just close the Bamboo Dock menu-tab that appears when you plug in the tablet, you should regain control (otherwise just unplug the sucker). Also, it does have replaceable nibs, and these appear dull even at first. You can probably sharpen 'em with an Xacto knife though I've yet to try. But the pressure-sensitivity with the tablet is great, dull-looking nibs and all. Smaller is I think better, because your hand has to travel a much shorter distance with a small surface to get from one side of the screen to another, while with the big tablets you might as well be doing calisthenics. In short, if you buy this, you won't regret it--I have everything Adobe makes, plus LightWave 3D and Zbrush, and it makes work much more efficient and precise! Good luck!DEAN S : Depending on the purpose for which you 'll use the tablet, the 8.5 x 5.4 should be adequate for most anything. It's a comfortable range for a normal-size hand to navigate without having to continually change positions while drawing, and the software will scale your work up to whatever work area your monitor provides.
I've been very happy with my tablet.
I hope this helps.
Dean S.FRANCIS S : I am sorry, but I do not know.CAMILLE C : Hi! I bought the big one and i returned it because it was too much space to drag my hand across, very tiring, you can change the space you want to make it active though. This made me realize that I didn't need that much space to work with, so I returned the big one for the smaller one and i'm way happier. It would be good if you can test it yourself before buying it.
Shopper : How does it work for color separating required for pre-silkscreening printing ?MARQ L : Sorry I dont have enough experience to give you a good answer.FRANCIS S : My system has never worked we'll so I cannot help.
