It works just like it's not there. No difference in performance other than the fact that it now has 6 times the storage as the original PS5. I don't know how long it willl take to run out of space but by that time the 8 gb should be much cheaper. Speaking of price ADORAMA had the best price I could find and I had been looking for almost a year. Storage cost have really been at a stand still for over a year now and I thought they would continue to drop exponentially like everything else computer but that has not been the case so if your waiting to save a ton of money like me don't just buy it get it over with and stop obsessing about it and get back to what you love and your games. It was easy enough too installl so don't let that discourage you about buying .

read write speeds as suggested in technical specifications. easy to install as all nvme. the edition without heat sink is very thin. i suggest always put some thermalpad and heatsink on these drives. less thermal is more lief for them as always. not to mention the speed stability with them.

The website is misleading. Beware companies using MB (Megabytes) when the speed ratings shown actually match Mb (Megabits) which is obviously 8X smaller or slower if comparing speed. While this drive is performing at the speeds shown in Megabits, it is absolutely not in MegaBytes.

I bought two 2TB SSD mid-July, I returned them, new and sealed, within a week because I found a better price at Amazon. Yesterday, September 4 I received a package from WD with one opened 1TB SSD. I tried to speak to a manager, and the representative hang-up my call. I just asked for proofs, and the representative mentioned that WD doesn't need to show any proofs. I already put a "consumer complaint against a business/company" against WD store in California. This is the first time something like this happened to me.

Works like it should with my Mac Pro 2013 "trashcan". I had a Samsung 980 Pro but after their latest firmware update that drive started misbehaving. Apparently Samsung's controllers don't play nicely with macs. WD was recommended by the mac community and it has been a good decision.

I have now put three of the SN850X drives in my computer 2 of them a re 4TB and the other is a 2TB. All of them are running perfectly with zero issues. I love that WD provides the best drive clone software you can get with your drives for free. This is not a program they made but one that is made separately and they purchase for you to use to have the easiest time when you do finally need to replace an SSD at its end of life. I had a 970 Samsung that had started to fail and I was able to clone it before it died all together. I got one for my nephew and tried it in his system a MSI Bravo 15 laptop and it would not play well with that system. I found out MSI in those laptops do not like that high of speed of a drive. I found this funny because MSI says it is a gaming Computer.

The 2TB SN850X NVMe does not perform to the advertised 7000 Mb/s rate. WD website is not user friendly enough to find if there is a driver that needs installation to operate the SN850X as an external on a Mini Mac M2.

I purchased this drive direct from Western Digital and it didn't last a year. I'm now currently using a different NVMe drive now and my PC is working fine. I had this SN850X setup as a boot drive with Windows 10 desktop and I kept the PC up to date (drivers included). I always go through the standard shutdown process every time and one day it just couldn't boot to Windows. The drive no longer showed up in BIOS and using a external enclosure with the drive in it was unrecognizable. I contacted WD customer service and went through troubleshooting with them and came to the conclusion that the drive was dead (most likely firmware corruption). The drive was under warranty but they wanted it sent back to them with no physical damage. I'm not comfortable sending my drive back with important and sensitive information still stored on it. I'm very disappointed with their warranty terms and conditions. I paid about $130 for 7 months of use.

This was my first NVMe SSD purchase, and I could not be happier! It's been running great, and my temps are great too! I was surprised how fast Windows 11 installed on this thing. It had those files copied over and installing in hardly no time. I've installed Windows many times, but never seen it install that fast. No issues with gaming. Games load pretty fast. Drive installation was easy. My motherboard had an included beefy heatsink, so I did not have to purchase one. So keep in mind, you don't need to buy a heatsink if your motherboard already includes a decent one. Yeah, so far all is good and hoping it stays this way! And I would certainly recommend this drive! Lastly, be sure to pull off the protective film covering the thermal pad on back of the heatsink before installing your drive. I've watched some YouTube videos of some installing their drives and forgetting to remove that film. That's not good! My System Below. System Name: GO DAWGS! I bought the 1TB with the Heatsink for my PS5, took me about 5 minutes to install. Runs great, copies games and other files really fast. Bought mine in Sweden so it was a little more expensive then it is now. I simply love it. All reviews says the same: it is the best! Better than Samsung and so on. But one advice, now that they are so cheap; go for the 2TB. Trust me you wont regret it.

This drive was unusable from the start, my laptop would not recognize the ssd at all so it would not format it. I removed my old ssd and tried to use this ssd as main, windows was able to "fix" this issue during repair... everything worked after that, then i installed a program to check the speed of this ssd. It would NOT give me the 7300 advertised, instead i got 3710.92 and bellow. With that said, I decided to return this product. I think they sent me a defective product

Works great once its set up correctly in the bios. Installed alongside the oem wd_black m.2 and used the included acronis subscription to move my OS over to the sn850x. I had to reset the cmos to get it to boot, and had to reformat the original drove to stop windows from reverting my boot order. I was initially disappointed in my benchmark scores before realizing that the pci lanes are intertwined in a way that both drives are affected. Basically, it made my original drive appear much faster than normal and the sn850x slower than advertised in testing. In real-world use, its fast and stable though. The dashboard app is also nice to have as well. Mine is mounted behind the GPU with no heatsink and never reaches above 60° at full load.
