The WD 4TB My Book Studio External Desktop Hard Drive is a uniquely designed desktop hard drive with an all metal enclosure and USB 3.0 connectivity. This drive comes formatted HFS+ Journaled making it fully compatible with Apple Time Machine and systems running Mac OS X 10.6.5 or later, and can easily be reformatted to work on Windows operating systems.

Once configured, you can begin transferring data at speeds up to 5Gb/s when using the USB 3.0 port and speeds up to 480Mb/s when connecting USB 2.0 compatible devices. You can also protect your stored data with password protection and hardware based encryption ensuring your data remains safe and secure.
