I have bought similar products, but I found this one from Wescott to be particularly enjoyable and easy to use. Well made and a good investment.

This is a fine tilter except if it gets over tightened. They tend to need replacement frequently because plastic parts strip easily.

This product assisted in making it a lot easier to photograph in certain conditions. It came in very useful when shooting a wedding on a yacht around 7pm and had to take a shot from the send deck of the ship as the couple posed at the bow of the ship. I was able to place my Lowell Light on the stand with this tilter and adjust it in order to spot light them from my position using this product while keeping the beautiful evening skies.

The Impact 7' parabolic lighting kit came with an umbrella/light clamp which clearly states, "not recommended for umbrellas larger than 45 inches." This one holds the 7' umbrella easily with a slight turn of the very large adjustment lever. It never shifts out of place and does not require a lot of force to secure. One problem is the screw to actually mount the umbrella is rather small but once mounted, you probably never have to touch that screw again until the end of the shoot.
