Unstable, inadequate attachment to pole/tripod

I LOVE the idea of being able to use three SB-910 units with pocket wizards attached on this bracket. The attachment for the lights is firm and secure. The PROBLEM lies in the single 3/8 threaded mount. This needs to offer a more secure positioning and hold to the post. With a large soft box on a post, this can twist easily and often when you least expect it. I wanted to use it on location with an assistant holding it on a pole and that just failed time after time. THE FIX - I took a Manfrotto tripod shoe and added a 3/8 adapter so it would fit securely into the threads of the triple bracket and super-glued that assembly so the Manfrotto adapter remains on the light bracket. As is from the box, it's not usable as a portable bracket inside the Westcott soft box. I want a better version that will hold its position on the light post/support/tripod. I really like the idea/concept.

Best of breed.

The triangle orientation works better than the "3 sided square” for distributing light around the modifier.

Great design overall quality is not good feels like a cheap piece of plastic I would not put my expensive speedlights on this.

Just received this in the mail from Adorama quick shipping not impressed with this bracket at all cheap plastic the threaded area is metal inserted into plastic will you screw it onto your spicket on your light stand there's a lot of movement a lot of flex I would not trust my expensive speedlights on this bracket.

Double or Triple Your Output

I use these brackets to hold multiple speedlights when shooting weddings, so both my assistant and I can shoot using a single stand. They are easy to use and durable with cold shoe plates to hold your flash units.

Needs improvement

I am on my second one within a few months...first I bought and after started using noticed that the mount is not tight in the assembly (where attaches to light stand). Whole unit wobbles. I emailed the company, sent me a new one...told me not to tighten down too hard. Ok. After using again with three Canon 600 speedlights...the new unit became wobbly. I emailed again. Apparently this product is not meant to mount on a light stand...you need to use a light modifier with it. However I shoot on the beach and can not use light modifiers (umbrellas) due to the wind. Not sure why it is not made to use both way and be stable. I am still waiting to see if they come up with one that is modified as I am the first to bring up the issue of the unit wobbling on my light stand.

great piece of kit

so good I had to buy a second one!!!...used this in my Apollo Orb and now have one to use inside my Photek Softlighter II...the only modification I did was to put a few drops of Locktight on the threads of my umbrella bracket and that way I'm not worried about it "spinning off" when shooting...

I returned it.

I was not confident in how the flashes attach. There could be over $1800 in flashes on there at one time that could easily slide off! It's just not well made and was not what I was hoping.

Compact triple flash bracket

I use the radiopopper PX system and this shoe mount attachment doesn't allow easy bracket attachments for their brackets. Works great with speedlight only use. Might have to use the cube with the JrX series of triggers.
