Questions & Answers

Shopper : What is the minimum height on this stand? I need to be able to get a Westcott 50x50 fairly close to the ground.A. BRUCE A : If you allow the vertical post to drop to the floor, it meaures 40" from the floor to the top of the spigot. Also, my JTL monolights require an additional spigot at the top for firm seating. So add a couple more inches should your lights require the same. My Novatron lights, on the other hand, do not require the second spigot at the top.SIMON G : Its about 41 inches at its minimum height.Amanda B : Thank you ErnieERNIE D : 40 inches
Todd H : How "tall" is this stand when it is closed?JUSTIN C : Just measured mine, looks to be 40" when closed.JAVIER A : The lightstand is approximately 40 inches tall when it is closed.THOMAS P : Todd, The tape measure puts it at 40.25 inches tall, legs folded in and including the stud. That doesn't make it the most portable of stands, but it's certainly the sturdiest. No wagging at the top with a Bowens Gemini 400WS moonlight with beauty dish. I like the stand. For about the same price, you can get a folding stand which is much easier to travel with, but it won't be as steady as this stand. This is my choice when I need the big lights for group and individual portraits in the field. Hope that helps. Best Regards, TomDa L : 40" (3 ft and 4") tall. By the way, it's a very good stand.JOEL W : 40 inches tall.ANDREW R : Closed length on this stand is 40.0" (101.6 cm)
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?CHAKRAVARTHY S : Just based on recommendations from Robert Hall.LAVELL F : I own one 9910N stand already and it has proved to be a reliable part of my photo arsenal. Therefore I'm buying two more; matching stands for each of my strobes.Jonathan L : Wanted a simple low-cost option that still offered a decent heightTracy G : Need it to support security cameras that we are using in a conference room setting.TRENT W : 10-feet is good. I have 7-footers, and that wasn't enough for many situations. The 10-footer is well-built, sturdy.

Specs need to be verified

The description/specs are inaccurate. The closed length is not 27-28." It is 35." Also this one is air cushioned (which is a good thing). But really only got this for its supposed short collapsed length as it's key feature.

Nice piece of gear for a reasonable price.

Feels a bit light weight, but well built. Holds my Westcott FJ400 and modifiers with no problem. I have several other stands in the same price range and the Westcott is my preferred stand. I like how it doesn't just drop the strobe as dead weight when you loosen the set screws.

A reliable light stand

I'm very pleased with the Westcott 9910N ligbt stand. It is a very good balance of weight, height and stability! That's why I own three of them.

New Model.......JUNK

I've ordered several of these (as pictured) and they are great stands. The problem is, they changed them to a cheap stand. Not what is in the picture! New new stands should not be called heavy duty because they are not. They are heavy "dooty"

Sturdy but light weight

I use the lightstand with the Westbox 28" rapidbox. The stand is easily adjustable in my small studio to cover seated or standing portrataits. No fear of tips-sturdy with smooth operation.

Nice Stand

Nice lightstand. Doed the job and is sturdy. The only problem is that it is not air dampened. There are some others in this price range that have ait dampening and I will try them in the future.

Can't be beat for the price...!

I am a professional photographer who requires all types of light stands and accessories, and for the money these are quite impressive. Will probably buy a couple more!

RELIABLE - ITS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR

I use these stands for my Alien Bee's and LARGE umbrella(s) [60in shoot through], they have yet to disapoint me! Of all the lighting equipment I have, these are the least of my worries. My only complaint is that set up and tear down could be a bit quicker. But that's only because I use them out on location and am constantly moving them. Im also always loadin wieght on them and pushing their strength to the limits. While shooting beach, everything stays attatched to the stand (extension cords, power packs, camera bag, EVERYTHING) and they dont seem to mind Overall a GREAT product, especially for the price you're paying!!! I will be getting more of em.

Just Starting Out

I am a professional freelance photographer just starting up my own business, looking for equipment of good value. I bought two of this stand for a variety of uses, but mainly to have a couple of tall flash light / background support stands. They are strudy, well-built, relatively light weight, and economical. I didn't make a bad choice - you won't either.
