Shopper : I have the Westcott Octa-box XL (not the rapid box) and it has the Belcar mount attached to it with 4 screws (the mount for Alien bees.) Will this product be a suitable replacement so I can use the FJ400?

Turns Poorly

This ring turns only when the setscrews are completely slack, and even then it still grinds on its way around, and is very difficult to turn. One issue may be that the inner ring is made of very thin metal, and was deformed in two places upon arrival, because of overtightening of the setscrews from the factory. I've tried to straighten the inner ring, and I've improved its profile, but the severe scraping is still there. Since the setscrews must always be almost-falling-out loose, why tighten them at the factory? For that matter, they could be eliminated in the design, and replaced with a captive nylon post, which would work infinitely better. I have much cheaper non-USA speedrings that are of higher quality, so I'm afraid I must recommend those over the Westcott. The ring does function, so I won't give zero stars, but it could be much better.
