Shopper : What's the difference between the bi-color and daylight if both are dimmable and have tungsten caps?REBECCA C : I can't answer that one.
John B : Can I use battery to power these on for outdoor shoot?Jonathan F : The answer with regard to battery power is no. These lights take bulbs with a standard E26 Edison light bulb base (the same as standard light bulbs used in home light fixtures and lamps) and have a standard 110 v 3 prong plug. An easier solution would be to power these lights using a small portable gasoline generator. I use a Honda EU2000i "suitcase" style generator for outside/field power in a number of situations (photo, video, and otherwise). Very quiet, easily carried by one individual, runs 10-15 hours on 1 gallon of gasoline, can put out a constant 1500 watts of power. Of course, other generators will do just as well. Best wishes.REBECCA C : I have only used mine inside.J. Patrick S : No, these are strictly plug-in lamps and do not have any hookups for batteries. You would be best looking at lights that can take battery packs natively, otherwise you would require an inverter / battery pack to plug into, and those are heavy things to tote around.SEYMOUR W : I honestly don’t know the answer to this… But I suspect That there must be a way to convert a DC package into AC power - Just like there are DC to AC converters for cars

ok but

It was good as advertised as a portrait photography kit. This is not a good portable kit, it had no bag, and the softboxes seemed like they would bend easily.

A Swell Light Kit

A very neat and keen little light kit for all of us filmmakers and TV producers, big and little time, from Hollywood to Haverhill. It is equipment like this that can spell the difference between winning an Academy Award or working the night shift at DD. Excellent value & solid build quality

Excellent value and very solid build quality. Love the folding softboxes & since fabric is substantial and ribs are metal, I expect them to hold up. Daylight-balanced. Remote dimmer feature works well. Using for business-oriented videos and do not expect we'll ever need to upgrade to a more expensive light.

Good Basic Set -- Transportable, Effective.

I use two sets of these to light a portable green screen. They perform this tests well. I did install new LED light bulbs to minimize/eliminate noise and reduce heat while shooting in small spaces.

let's go green screening

With little time to set up, cramped space, insufficient power this kit was EXACTLY what I needed. The LED lamps even with the internal fans were not an issue for the shoot. And generating very little heat kept the room cool for the entire session. The screen fabric came out of the box wrinkle free. Definitely a Keeper.

Named a Hot One award winner by Professional Photographer magazine, the uLite is a compact 500-watt constant light developed for learning, experimenting, and getting creative with light. Unlike strobes and flashes, continuous light sources give photographers the ability to see the effects of their light placement before they shoot. This allows for the easiest photo and video shoot preparation.

These compact constant lights output up to 500 watts each and are compatible with fluorescent, tungsten, and LED bulbs. The durable socket head features a tilting bracket allowing for exact positioning, plus umbrella and light stand receptacles. With just a simple push on the included uLite softboxes' center bracket, these modifiers assemble and lock into place. Both the 20" square and 26" octagonal softboxes are rated for up to 500-watts and collapse in seconds making them very easy for travel.

Designed with 72 daylight-balanced dimmable light emitting diodes, the included 45W LED bulbs are energy-efficient and rated for over 20,000 hours of use. They emits an impressive 1370 lux at 1 meter each and render skin tones wonderfully, with a CRI rating of up to 93.

These bulbs come with a removable tungsten cap that instantly converts its daylight-balanced output to a warmer tungsten balance. The battery-powered remote allows for precise control and grouping of multiple Westcott 45W Dimmable Daylight LED Bulbs.

All uLites are approved by both the CE the CSA for safety. These light sources are tested on heat emittance, durability, and construction, ensuring their ability to be used around infants, children, pets, and products.
