I have not used this item with the more expensive studio strobes, however, in my research (prior to purchasing 7' Parabolic Umbrella) I did notice some studio setups that used studio strobes with this item. My professional/technical knowledge would lead me to believe that "yes" you definitely can use the 7' Parabolic Umbrella in either case.

The only one I use now
This is my go to umbrella for the subjects when I am shooting indoors and that I am only using a single light source. I do not think I would take it outdoors without assistants holding it down.

Great difuser
We live and work in sunny Phoenix, this product is so good for diffusing or as a shoot thru. For the price it highly versatile and easily transportable.

So, I guess I'll buy it again....
I use this mainly to diffuse the light outdoors. I have purchased this item multiple times and it is not very sturdy. Wish they would come out with one that would hold up. I purchased a Westcott probably 6 years ago and it was awesome but finally had to be replaced. The replacements have been horrible. This is #3 in a year. Very disappointed, but need something this big!!

Works well provides large diffuse source
A lot to like about this product so will just generally say there are two small issues: 1) the umbrella itself places a lot of strain on the umbrella shaft, to the point where there is a clear bend in the shaft when using on my Alien Bees strobes. Not a huge deal but do need to compensate by angling the strobe head appropriately. 2) not sure if the color of the umbrella fabric is neutral. All modifiers to some extent affect the color of the light given off by your strobe. A custom white balance corrects that and should always be done. But to my eye, the fabric of the umbrella seems to have a slight yellow tint rather than pure white. Again, not a deal breaker but something to be aware of.

great cheap big light
This thing is a great inexpensive light source. USe any light in it and make sure the spread is even and is a great soft source with flattering wrap around.

7ft Westcott umbrella
Great product. Produce beautiful soft wrapping light. Great in a studio and outdoor as well. You will need sturdy stand and if use outdoor en sand bags. No problems so far. Would buy it again. I have all three of them (white and silver as well)

When there is no space for a softbox....
The spines are really long and tend to get tangled. Also I have no idea how one would clean it so keeping messy models away from it is a good idea. Great light off it from my profoto D500s, no complaints that way.
