How does the Wimberley BS-100 Brass Reducer Bushing enhance my photography setup?

Shopper : Hello, i have a tripod head with a 1/4-20 thread stud, and i would like to fit my tripod head on it, but it has a 3/8 thread system. Can anyone tell me if a "stud-sleeve" exist to enlarge the tripod head stud to 3/8 ?, to allow my tripod head to correctly fit it? Thanks. Eric.VAUGHN H : I have seen on line shirt ads with a pronounced Moire effect in the material. I'd stick with the 800.JOHN G : As they say, it depends, if you want an exceptionally sharp image for landscapes I would go with the 800E without the filter.LUBOMIR T : Hello, I tried both the D800 and the D800E with Nikon pro lenses (50 mm 1.4, 24-70 mm 2.8, 70-200 mm 2.8 VRII). The argument against the D800E is the possibility of moire patterns in some shots of meshes, textiles, tiles, roofs etc. I have not seen even a hint of a problem except with very rare shots. If you see the moire pattern at the time of shooting, just step back or forward a foot (or an inch with macro shots) and it will disappear. If you do not see it while shooting and suspect the subject may be prone to moire, shoot it from two or three distances a bit apart. The D800E is sharper overall and I have stuck to it. However, neither camera is particularly fast for action photography due to the high resolution leading to relatively slow focusing. Please take this into account - if you're shooting sports or street or your yapping dogs or darting kids etc. you may be better off with a different type of camera. The D600 will not give you the 30" monitor pixel sharpness of the D800E but may work better in everyday photography.PHIL W : I went with the straight D800 because my main body of work is arhitectural and I thought for what little I might gain in sharpness with an 800E, I'd be doing a lot of post work with moire problems on brick work. Besides, that was the recommendation from Nikon Professional Services for what I shoot.

Works perfectly

This bushing permitted me to mount a large 3-axis head on a more compact tripod. It reduced the mounting hole in the head from 3/8-16 so that I could fit it to the tripod, which has a 1/4-20 mounting screw

The best when used on a Giottos ballhead

I have used this bushing many times on Giottos ballhead to reduce the 3/8" hole to accept 1/4 bolts. The flange (lip) of most 3/8" to 1/4" bushing is just too thick. This Wemberley bushing has a smaller flange and fits perfectly.

How can you seamlessly adapt your larger telephoto lenses to fit smaller mounts The answer lies in the Wimberley BS-100 Brass Reducer Bushing. Expertly designed to screw into the female threading on the tripod collars of larger telephoto lenses, this high-quality brass bushing effectively transforms the hole to function as a 1/4"-20 threaded socket.

Ideal for photographers and videographers who value versatility and reliability, this durable reducer bushing is compatible with Wimberley quick release plates, which utilize 1/4"-20 screws, rather than the larger 3/8"-16 size. This means you can easily mount your larger lenses onto more compact tripods, expanding your equipment's compatibility and enhancing your creative possibilities.

Crafted from sturdy brass, the BS-100 reducer bushing is resistant to corrosion and designed to withstand the rigors of regular use. Its smaller flange ensures a perfect fit, even when the lip of most 3/8" to 1/4" bushings proves too thick.

Whether you're a professional photographer or a hobbyist, the Wimberley BS-100 Brass Reducer Bushing is an essential tool for your kit, offering a practical solution for adapting your equipment to meet diverse shooting requirements.
