The Wimberley F-2 has a system of flash bracket components that are modular, versatile and easily stowed in a small space when not in use. Known as the Shape-Shifter Modular Flash Bracket System, the components connect without tools. None of the combinations slip, twist or creep-even during intense action. They're integrated with the venerable Arca-Swiss type quick release system, now dominant as the industry standard for macro and telephoto shooting.The Combo 2 consists of modules 1 & 4 and combines to make an extremely adjustable macro bracket for both collared and non-collared lenses. Perfect for the minimalist to use with everything from a squat 50mm macro lens to a monster 600mm super telephoto. As with all of the Shape Shifter components and unlike other manufacturer's products, parts are captive to prevent detachment from accidentally unscrewing them too far while in the field. Total weight of this combination is 0.88 lb.

A Solid Piece of Portable Grip Gear

This bracket can be used to mount a hotshoe flash with your camera, either it be for macro, or for normal flash. Using it in a slow paced workflow is usually desired, as you have several knobs to adjust with. In order to attach it to  your camera, you still need a arca swiss type plate. In order to have two such arms installed, you need their dedicated plate M-8. To mount a hotshoe flash on top, you could either use the stand coming with the flash, or a coldshoe receives 1/4 screw. The position of the flash can be adjusted with relative ease, high or low, close or far from the subject. When tightening up, it holds even the largest hotshoe flash from Canon or Nikon without problem. It does add some weight but is lightweight compared to most other flash brackets. For macro photography, using a tripod is usually necessary anyway.
