Great Printer, Fussy Software

We bought this printer as an all-in-one for our new café. For the most part it has worked good. We definitely have had issues connecting our Mac computers to the printer via wi-fi. I consider myself a savvy tech guy and even with the wi-fi wizard, I could not connect to the printer. Eventually, I plugged the printer into my router and just used our ethernet connection. Works great now. Scanning seems to be hit or miss. Sometimes it works great. Other times, it doesn't work at all. I would need more time with the printer to recommend it to others but it's sufficient for our application.

Scanning feature is substandard

There is no way to setup the scanning contrast of th'e produced PDF files. Scans are too bright and there's no fix. The software interface is old-fashioned, unser-unfriendly and counter-intuitive. This is just a printer, with a very substandard scanning feature.

It prints well,

It prints well, but for the life of me I cannot get the scanner to work. I did get it to work 2 times, but since then it just won’t. I’ve tried everything I could think of, and no luck. But other than that, my printing needs are pretty minimal.

Complicated and counter intuitive

Trying to figure out how file things is amazingly complicated. I wished I stayed with Brother.

Good Printer

I bought this printer to replace an old brother printer that no longer worked. I homeschool my children, so I use it a lot for printing worksheets, lesson plans, etc. So far, I haven't had any problems with it. Setting it up was pretty easy, and the print quality is good.

Product Misinformation?

We wanted to try Xerox WorkCentre 3225 DNI for home use when we saw it online to replace our Brother All-in-One with Fax. We purchased the product thinking that it might be better than the Brother brand. We tried to read customer feedback. We have not seen any user mentioned about its fax function. Can somebody using this same model tell us if your fax is working or not please? The fax in our unit does not work. We followed everything what the manual says. Our fax line is working. The product says "All-in-One" with Fax but we can't fax. If other users can not use their fax either, then why is this still in the market? This will be product misinformation if the machine say "All-in-One" including Fax but can't do faxing. This product lets you use the Centreware Internet Services (CWIS)where user administrator has a default password of 1111. The manual says change the password. We were told don't ever change the password. Otherwise, if you do you will be locked up and can not login again. Once it happens, you will be directed to their authorized Xerox repair center but you will be required to pay $179 for them to reset the password.

We had a 3325DN which could no longer connect to our network. We thought this would be a replacement. Mutch less than anticipated.

New machine was a duplex machine but will not double side copy.

Excellent product, especially for the cost

I love the printer The installation and set up were a breeze It does not use toner quickly, so it's not costly to keep operating It does everything - prints wirelessly, scans, faxes, copies I'm still learning how to use it, though. For example, can I connect to it while away from the house network ? I bet that I can. I could not imagine a better printer

Bought for home use

With 2 kids in college and 2 in high school, my old printer was wore out and needed to be replaced by one that could handle the heavy work load, this 3225 has met the needs of my children. They love the wifi connectivity and the speed of printing, I kept the default two sided print and save on paper! This machine has a lot more options that we don't use yet, but very happy with the overall use as of now. (Keep a printout of the flow chart instructions handy, it makes going through the menu easier).

WorkCentre 3225 is very good. I am hapy to buy it. It isn't 100% compatible with Windows 10. I intend to buy another printer. I am interested to portable printer because I am going in many business trips.

This product is truly a "Work Center."

It is ready to work hard for our hard working employees. They can count on it to do the job, just as I count on them.

Not Worth It's Wieght In Scrap

At our company we have had Xerox machines that have been wonderful with little to no issues like with the WokCentre 5945, 7855 and 5150. I figured since one of our programs needed a new printer to replace an old Brother that was breaking down that I would replace it with a Xerox that had good reviews.. I don't know if it is all Xerox desktop MFC models but this one I would stay away from. I've upgraded the firmware and changed every setting to try and fix the problems that it has but cannot manage to fix any of them. Pros: 1. Easy to Install and setup from a computer. Cons: 1. the toner cartridge is very expensive 2. scanning image is light where it should be dark and grey all over when scanning through ADF or flatbed (even in a dark room) 3. Toner management with Xerox cartridge or aftermarket is wasteful. The toner cartridge has to be replaced when it thinks the toner is out. every single one I could still feel toner shaking around in even though the printer thought it was empty. I found another Brother replacement that would allow us to recoup the cost of purchasing in just under 6 months for how much it would have cost us to continue using the Xerox 3225

Lemon

This copier is a few months old and we've had repeated phone calls for service on it. The motherboard has already been replaced. I've used Xerox products for years and always been happy with them but my fear is this copier is a lemon and we'll be replacing it again long before it's normal useful life. Not happy with this model.

Jams alot

The machine functions great as a scanner. Multiple issues with printing and copying front to back. Had to order parts three times. The machine jams majority of printing. To conserve paper and print front and back do not use this machine.

Very Nice Little MFP

So far, it's all as advertised. Unboxing is simple. It's smaller than I thought it would be. I replaced a Brother MFC7860DW with this one and it actually takes up LESS space in my small home office area than the Brother did. Set-up to get it up and running was easy. It takes a little bit longer than some other brands, but one must realize that this is real office equipment, not really so much a consumer product. It's like the difference between a KitchenAid mixer and a Black & Decker in terms of quality. The machine recognized my wireless network instantly, and was easily set up on a PC and three Macs. I've read some folks say that set-up was a terrible process, yadda, yadda, yadda, but I've got to think these people didn't read the manual first. I read the manual and simply followed the procedures. It was fine on the first try. With respect to the output results, I'm happy with the print quality. I think it's a bit better than my Brother was. The ease of use is just fine. Anyone who's ever used a modern Xerox office machine will feel right at home. It works exactly how you think it would, no surprises. there. I rated it four stars, not five, for speed because while the speed of output is certainly more than acceptable, but I've seen faster. The faster ones I've seen also cost a lot more, though. So, again, it's fine. Build quality seems what one would expect of a Xerox product, in other words, it looks and feel like it should last for years. One thing I wish it had was paper tray capacity for a whole ream of paper, but in this price class nothing else has that, either, so it is what it is. I ordered an extra high-capacity toner cartridge with my purchase as I'm pretty sure the one that comes with the machine is only a "starter" one and I didn't want to take the chance on running out even though I know it will warn you, by default at 10% remaining, when to get more toner. Bottom line: so far I'm completely satisfied with it. it does what Xerox says it will do in the way Xerox says it will. I think it's a great, little machine.

Excellent Printer for the price

Excellent Printer. Easy to set up. Print quality is fantastic. Small footprint so it doesn't take up a lot of room.

These new Xerox WorkCentre MFPs are the latest entries in the small-workgroup monochrome lineup. There are two devices: the WorkCentre 3215/NI, which runs at 27ppm and includes networking connectivity and the WorkCentre 3225/DNI, which runs at 29ppm and includes duplexing. Both devices have standard printing, scanning, copying, faxing and email features, as well as standard Wi-Fi.

These models are powered by a 600MHz processor and start with 256MB of memory. Xerox rates these models for up to 30,000 pages per month. First-page-out time is a very good 8.5 seconds in. USB, Ethernet and Wi-Fi are standard. PostScript and PCL are standard. Mobile printing is also offered by way of the Xerox PrintBack, Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print. Paper handling starts with a 250-sheet standard tray and a single-sheet multipurpose tray. There are no additional trays so the maximum input is 251 sheets. The output tray holds up to 120 sheets. There is a 40-sheet automatic document feeder. Duplexing is standard only on the WorkCentre 3225/DNI.

Scanning features include scan-to-TWAIN, scan-to-email, scan-to-PC and scan-to-WSD. File outputs include PDF, JPEG and TIFF. Color scanning is supported. Faxing features include JPEG compression, secure fax (receive only), color fax (sending only) and junk fax filter. Cost per page figures for these devices run at 3.4 cents when utilizing the high-capacity toner yields. This is a reasonable figure for this level of the market. There are other printing features, such as Nup, Watermark, toner save mode, booklet printing and ability to skip blank pages. Security features include 802.1 authentication, IPSec and Mac address filtering.

The WorkCentre 3215/NI and 3225/DNI devices are good buys for small offices or small workgroups that are looking for multifunction features only but don't require color. They like that they are affordable, have automatic duplexing (at least on the 3225/DNI) and have standard Wi-Fi connectivity. They give them their Editor's Choice Awards.
