Not recommended for anyone. Low speed, poor paper handling
This printer would jam consistently per each paper tag we print. The flimsy plastic sprocket that turns the rubber feed roller would pop off at every other page. Service has been called a few times and still getting the same result.

Workflow is awful
I cannot believe you have to open the back compartment every time you want to print an envelope and/or change it back for a letter. The workflow with this is as follows: In order to print my letter, I need to make sure the fuser is set for paper. It will not print the letter if the fuser is set for envelopes. I cannot print my letter and the envelope at the same time. Workflow????? To print a letter, I need to get up from my desk, go to the printer, open up the back to make sure green things are down. Go back to my desk and print out the letter. Go to the printer, take the letter off the printer, put the envelopes in the tray, open the back, lift up the green things, close the back, go back to my desk and print the envelope.....then to print out another letter on regular paper i need to go and open the back, put the green things down again, close the back, go back to my desk and print out the letter. This may be OK for offices that print envelopes in bulk, that is not the way my office works. VERY Disappointed. What a waste.

This was the perfect printer
I am very happy with this printer. I print a lot of big packages for my work and this printer handles the capacity that I need without spending thousands on a bigger one. This did have a learning curve to it. I struggled getting it to connect and then realized I needed to buy a wireless attachment to do that. It is very sensitive as well which could be a good thing but frustrating at times. Overall I love this printer it just could be a bit easier to use for me.

Bought this printer for the office to print books. it is amazing!! super fast and super clear images -- we are going to buy a second one right away

This product is very difficulty to print labels on and basically anything other than 8 1/2 x 11 paper
This product is only good for printing on regular 8 1/2 x 11 paper. If you want to print on a colored piece of paper, you open the drawer and put the colored paper in and then you have to accept the paper change before you can print. Yesterday I tried to print on a Avery Multi-use label and could not get the printer to accept the label. Our previous printer we only had to put the label in the envelope feed and the printer would recognize the label and print it. This printer does have an average print quality however to print anything else is either hard to do or cannot figure it out at all.

This product is very slow
Our B400 is so slow on our network that we get error messages that the printer is not responding to print requests. The setup was impossible without an IT Tech reworking all of our computers. Simple? NOT A CHANCE.

Great black & white printer
I love this printer for work. It's quick and the quality is great. My only comment for feedback is that it's slow to warm up and print if you haven't printed for a couple of hours.

Overall good but is a little slow, especially on envelopes. Quality is good. Needs some maintenance now and then. Sometimes it takes too long to print after it was in sleep mode.

Too Much Trouble Printing Envelopes with This Printer
It should be easier to print envelopes with this printer than it is. I don't bother doing it with this printer.

Every tme you change the paper you have to go to the printer and hit okay
We share a printer in the office, it is not on my desk, if I want to print on different paper than what is in the printer, I have to get up and put the different paper in the printer, then I walk back to my desk and hit print, then I have to go back to the printer and press OK on the printer screen. This is a time consuming pain in the butt

since day one we never had any issues with this printer works great and it fits our needs perfectly ( busy office of 20 people) there is no interruptions and everybody is using it with no issues makes our work flow much easier

Noisy & Not User Friendly
These were purchased for the office staff. Most are dissatisfied with their performance. The biggest complaint is that the printer does not automatically recognize the print job; so, it has been frustrating for the staff to continually go through multiple steps just to print an envelope (which was not the case with the previous HP printers). The other complaint is that the bypass tray is loud and seems cheaply made. The speed and print quality are good.

Great little machine that works as hard as a large one.
This is a great little machine. I print a lot of documents just in the course of a normal day and this machine meets and exceeds my needs daily. Print quality is great and the speed at which it prints out large documents of 100 pages+ is beyond what I expected. I highly recommend this machine to anyone looking for a small printer that works like a larger one.

Solid Printer
This is the second Xerox we have purchased. This B400 was purchased this to replace a WorkCenter 3615 that had served us well for about 3 years but we'd paid for two service visits to replace rollers and it started having trouble feeding paper through the internals of the machine and we figured it wasn't worth fixing. The B400 has been working well for us for about 6 months. It seems to be a bit slower to start printing then the 3615, but otherwise I think they perform the same. Only complaint is I can't figure out how to get it to send faxes. We have to dial a prefix ("7") to get to phone numbers off campus where our office/phone service is located, and I haven't figured out how to get it to work. Probably a simple fix, but it's a little frustrating.

Easy to use right out of the boxx
Literally plug it in, gave it an ip address and we were off and printing, very happy with the machine, all most never jams, and no complaints at all. Will be anohter next time one of our older printers stops working.

This product leaves a lot to be desired. It takes naps and isn't ready to print. It looses connection with our system and we have to connect to another printer. Overall, not happy with this printer.

One of the worst I've ever used
The has to be manually "woken up" before printing. It keeps losing the settings-I have had to keep resetting it. It's default setting is dual sided print, which I don't like.

Fast Printing and Reliable
This printer meets the printing needs of my small public research firm based on its generous monthly duty-cycle and the longevity of its consumable products (toner, drum, and fuser). Have had this printer for a little over a year and consider it a true "workhorse" that prints reliably with little to no maintenance. The touchscreen menus take a little time to get used to and envelope printing is not the best, but those minor issues are of no consequence based on the primary purpose and strengths of this network duplexing workgroup printer. Currently, I have no regrets and consider it definitely one of the best purchases that I have made for my business.
