They are "active shutter" glasses. Call lg ask these 2 questions: Does this tv require active shutter glasses? Is the tv emitter built in or do I need an external emitter? The glasses have faster responding LCD shutters than the Epson glasses that were supplied with my projector. NO GHOSTING! They use inexpensive CR 2032 lithium batteries that last over 50 hours. Unlike 3D active glasses, with rechargeable batteries, the operating time does not decrease with each recharge. The OEM Epson rechargeable 3D glasses no longer accept recharging. I bought 2 new pairs and four used pairs. ALL OPERATE FLAWLESSLY. The
