Thought this would be great for ND filters, but with the base attachment you cant put a lens cap on. So it does work great if you don't mind unscrewing it on and off between uses.

Really like the Xume magnetic system. Not sure why the Breakthrough lens cap was included however as they don't fit.

This is an excellent product that facilitate the changing of filters. The only issue that it does not support standard lens cap so you must buy the push on caps from Manfrotto.

The ease of being able to change filters (circular polarizers, Neutral Density filters, etc) so fast without the hassle of screwing/unscrewing the filters makes this a no-brainer for me. The magnetic system is really strong - never had a filter drop off, brushed off accidentally, etc. It just works.

I paid extra for 3 business day delivery. I am actually getting 4 business day delivery and I will be on my way to China when these adapter arrive. Don't bother paying extra for fast delivery. Order from Amazon Prime and get faster delivery for less costs.

I lost two separate filters on two different occasions, as I was walking around with these attached.

I bought these specifically for my ND filters so I can focus and set up without the filter, and then quickly snap the filter in place without risking changing focus or zoom. Couldn't be happier with the results. The only concern is with slight vignetting at wider angles. Not a big problem for me, just something to be aware of.

I found the adapters very useful in removing the filter during the solar eclipse. I was also shooting long exposures on waterfalls in Oregon and it made for easy on and off of ND filter i liked it so much I purchased another base ring for another lens

I pondered for almost a year whether this Xume system would benefit my shooting style enough to justify investing in it. But, with a major trip just around the corner, I finally caved and jumped in--purchasing the 77mm kit plus an extra ring and lens cover. How glad I am that I now have the system installed on my lens. The Cokin filter frame feels quite secure and the screw-on filters are a snap to use. I had not fully utilized my Cokin frame for GND's in the past mainly because it was a hassle to remove before storing my camera in its case. Being able to pop the frame off makes using GND's much more appealing and utilitarian now. Also, since I have always used a lens cap in preference over a hood to keep my lens clean while shooting landscapes, using the 77mm filter adapter on my 67mm lenses is a non-issue--plus it insures I'll have no vignetting on my super wide angle lens. For lightweight filter frames and screw-on filters, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Xume system.

POS: Threading a filter on never seems to be an easy-on task and the risk of cross threading is no small concern when rushing to get-the-shot. So the Xume is one of those "why didn;t I find out about this sooner?" things. + 4 stars CON: It is possible to knock a filter off when using a lens hood. - 1 star.

I like these adapters. They are great for ND and IR filters, when you need to set focus and composition before adding the filter. They make it convenient to do so, with minimal disruption to focus. The one problem I have with them is that I cannot use my lens cap with the lens side of the adapter. this means that to use the lens cap, I have to either have the filter on, or remove the filter adapter. That's fine if my intent is to use the filter for the entire shoot, but if I'm not, it gets inconvenient.

A few years ago I started using the Xume adapter and filter holders. Now they are on all of my lenses and DSLR camera bodies. They make every change of filters as painless as it can possibly be. I can not think of ANY negatives except b before I committed to their use, I periodically checked to make sure that the adapters and holders were tight. Once you have made the commitment to using the Xume system a drop of non permanent Loctite Threadlocker Blue 242 will take even that fear away.

These cause serious vignetting when using wide angle lenses on a full frame camera. For me, this is a deal breaker.

77mm (3.03") Lens Adapter
The Xume 77mm (3.03") Lens Adapter is a precision-machined metal ring that attaches to a lens with a 77mm-diameter filter thread to provide instant and secure attachment of filters when Xume Filter Holders are installed. This adapter ring incorporates NdFeB rare Earth magnets into its design to enable a strong, but easy to remove, connection between the lens adapter and filter holder. By using quick-to-remove magnets to attach filters, changing of filters can occur much more quickly and eliminates the chance of cross-threading or jamming when installing or removing filters.
The ring is approximately the same thickness as most step-rings and will not cause vignetting on most lenses with focal lengths as wide as 24mm (35mm equivalent). Over-the-lens type lens hoods are still compatible when Xume Adapters and Holders are in place and are recommended during use to provide an even more assured connection if working in busy environments. Additionally, traditional snap-on lens caps are not compatible with lens adapters; however a filter holder can be used on a lens cap to enable its use.
77mm (3.03") Filter Holder
The Xume 77mm (3.03") Filter Holder is a precision-machined metal ring that attaches to a 77mm circular screw-in filter to provide instant and secure attachment to lenses when a Xume Lens Adapter is installed. NdFeB rare Earth magnets are integrated within lens adapters to attach to the filter holder to and provide a strong, but easy to remove, connection that is suitable for use with oft-used filters. By using quick-to-remove magnets to attach filters, changing of filters can occur much more quickly and eliminates the chance of cross-threading or jamming when installing or removing filters.
